6A #5 St. Xavier (4-2) hosts 6A #7 Manual (4-2) after defeating 6A #4 Trinity 21-7. Manual is coming of a 14-10 loss to 6A #6 Butler. Last year St. Xavier defeated Manual 36-7 in the 6A playoffs. Manual’s last defeat of St. Xavier was in 1993. This game is on Friday night at 7:30. Who wins?

I cant imagine St. X having trouble in this game. Manual is improving, but not that fast.

Tigers- 34

Crimsons- 10

I would say the only thing that would keep this game close would be turnovers. Manual will come out excited and ready to play, but don’t know it that’ll last for four quarters.

M - 10

X - 35

I think this will be first week of season that St X will “have fun” on the field. Not cocky or arrogant but relaxed and enjoying the game. Confidence is rising and team unity is forming. Lots of work to be done on offensive side of ball for X but they are figuring it out

I look for X to put several good weeks in a row

X by 4TDs

Manual has good defense, but offense is hurting, especially not that RB Aidan Robbins is out for season. I think X wins in low scoring game. Thinking around 21-0.

Isn't Manual also starting a freshman at QB?

Coach Wallace is getting the Tigers rolling.

Yes, and RB is Freshman JuWaun Northington that goes both ways, very talented kid. He had a interception for TD in Butler game.

St X is the easy pick here.

But I do expect a slow first quarter for X after an emotional win vs T.

Manual has some very good pieces but injuries have really hurt the Crimsons.

But Coach Carmony is doing a very good job at Manual and in a couple years who knows... But not this year. X by 3 TDs.

Is this the final home game for St. X?

For regular season yes.

For regular season yes.

That is some weird scheduling to have the final home game of the regular season on the first weekend of October.

Guess will be opposite next year. Last game is at Cincy St. X and we played them at home last year.

Hey 94, I was wanting your opinion on this. I think having the St X Bye week the second Friday of the season is a disadvantage. Do you agree? And if so, what's the best way to try to adjust that?

I think this year it worked out having new Coach and learning new system. I’m not sure how bye weeks are formulated. I think it would be better later in season as far as injuries go.

I would agree this year with the bye week. I would say in a perfect world right about now would be good for a bye week, but I think you have a certain window to play district games so that may have something to do with it.
