That's him... Also thought of another kid, Prince... He was a big guy also. Why are these guys not playing? Are they involved in other sports?

 

 

Prince Holt is on the team this year. I don't know the exact reasons why some of these kids are not playing this year, but maybe they thought that they would not get much playing time or that Coach Carr wasn't going to keep 9-10 seniors.

Does anyone know how Scott did in the scrimage this past Saturday? I believe they played Finneytown.

 

Who did Carr start? Will these be his starting 5?

The varsity played 5 10 minute running quarters and Scott won 3 of 5. Quigley, Sharp, and Miller provided over 90% of the scoring for Scott. The team showed some quickness, hustle, and determination. Rebounding was not good and they need to keep working hard on this in order to have a good season. This team has potential to shock some teams this year if they keep playing hard and rebound a lot better than they did on Saturday.

 

Coach Carr started Sharp, Quigley, Miller, Felts, and Norman. I suspect this is probably not the definite 5 that will start this season.

 

They scrimmage North Laurel tonight at Scott from 7-10.

Can someone please tell me how come there are only 3 Juniors playing basketball this year on Scott's roster? I believe the Juniors playing are Adkins, Bianchi, and Lowry correct me if I am wrong. I know for a fact there are more Juniors at Scott who could have contributed to this team. When these Juniors were Freshman didn't they have a team ? I assume if they did they had at least 10 to 12 players so where are they at now. I know they didn't get cut they must have decided not to play for whatever reason.

I know some kids weed out certain sports after their Freshman year to concentrate on sports they like more, but I can't believe this would be the case for most of them. I know all the kids from that Freshman team really like Coach Carr, so could there be another reason why there is such a low turn-out from that Freshman team of 2 years ago that don't play basketball anymore ? This is just an observation I wish the Eagles good luck on their up-coming season I know they have the talent and Head Varsity Coaching experience to go far. I am an EAGLE for life and always will support the big 3 sports for the school. :ylsuper:

A combination of both. Scott played very good defense and ran the offense almost to perfection. North Laurel will probably struggle a little this year.

 

Overall I think the team played well. Sharp, Quigley, and Miller will always be their big three night in & night out, but I have been impressed by the younger players coming off the bench.

I don't know if this is the case or not, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me. Carr is a great coach and could do good things if the players buy in, and I know a few kids that played for him last year that also really liked him. But from my experience around Scott it seems like a lot of these kids don't like to be yelled at like Carr does, which in my opinion is the kids problem and not the coach, because nothing seems to motivate a player more than a coach being enthusiastic and challenging his players (yelling at them is the enthusiastic part).

Ryne Smith shot the ball pretty well last night.

 

Rebounding looked better, but it will be a work in progress for the entire season.

 

I don't know their names, just numbers, but the sophmore class is big and looks like it will become a huge class in height. This group has really improved from last year's frosh team.
