What Has Happened To The Big 10?

Featured Replies

Then you agree the BYU loss doesn’t change what you thought of Wisconsin going into the season?

Absolutely it does. I had thought they were a better football team than BYU and a fringe top 25 team. Now, I know they aren't as good as BYU and are not a top 25 caliber team.

Excluding Ohio St. the Big 10 hasn't won a title on over 20 years. Nothing has happened to the Big 10. It's still Ohio St. and everybody else.

Not as good as Miami.

Based on a loss to BYU. Makes sense...

You don’t think Wiscy is a top 25 team? That’s just a horrifically bad take.

Top 25 teams don't lose at home to BYU.

Makes much more sense than saying they're better than Miami in 2018 because they beat them in 2017...

It makes complete sense... Certainly more sense than "Wisconsin is better now because they were good last year."

What has Wisconsin done this year to show they are better than Miami?

Yet not nearly as bad as your entire argument in this thread.

Bad games happen.

Not without more information. Clearly we evaluate teams differently. Your model discredits a team for one bad game. My model examines a multitude of factors that includes, but is not limited to, past performances in recent seasons.

The information we have about the 2018 Wisconsin team is that they lost to BYU at home. That's all the information you need.

Your "model" looks for ways to justify a bad loss by saying "well, they are usually good, so they must be good this year."

What has Miami done this year to say they ARE better than Wisconsin? Not lose to BYU? They haven’t played BYU. They’ve played LSU and 2 duds. Wisconsin has been consistently better than Miami for over a decade. One game in one season doesn’t change that IMO.

Yet not nearly as bad as your entire argument in this thread.

Ok...

What has Miami done this year to say they ARE better than Wisconsin?

Not lost to a bad team? :idunno:
