What Has Happened To The Big 10?

Featured Replies

What has Miami done this year to say they ARE better than Wisconsin? Not lose to BYU? They haven’t played BYU. They’ve played LSU and 2 duds. Wisconsin has been consistently better than Miami for over a decade. One game in one season doesn’t change that IMO.

Exactly. They didn't lose to BYU.

Wisconsin has played three duds and lost to one of them, at home.

You can keep bringing it up as much as you want. Past teams are irrelevant and only make you look desperate to make a point that you are unable to.

The information we have about the 2018 Wisconsin team is that they lost to BYU at home. That's all the information you need.

Your "model" looks for ways to justify a bad loss by saying "well, they are usually good, so they must be good this year."

That’s exactly what my model is designed to do. I’m not a gambler, but I’m looking at this from a gamblers perspective. If Miami/ Wisconsin played tomorrow and I had to drop a meaningful amount of money on the game I’m choosing Wisconsin 10/10 times. It would be foolish for me to make that decision based solely on this season. That’s not the way this works. It’s about measuring risks. Wisconsin is still a more manageable risk than Miami. We have nothing on Miami.

I’ve already proved my point. You just don’t want to see it.

You would be a terrible gambler.

Here's what we have on Wisconsin...BYU is better than them.

Not lost to a bad team? :idunno:

Clearly I’m not getting anywhere with this. You don’t want to even consider my take.

I’ve already proved my point. You just don’t want to see it.

The point that you really do care whether or not people think Wisconsin and the Big 10 are good? I agree, you did prove that point.

You would be a terrible gambler.

Gamblers should only look at 3 data points to make their decisions. Got it.

Gamblers should only look at 3 data points to make their decisions. Got it.

Gamblers should look at data from years where the same people aren't even on the team. Got it.

You think Vegas sets their lines on games three weeks into the season based on something that happened last year, or even before then? :lol2:

Wisconsin is good. Unless you think who they have been in the past isn’t good as well. Then your qualification for good only includes 6-7 teams every year.

Probably accurate.

Which is actually pretty accurate.

Yes. They examine EVERYTHING.

I think in terms of logic, facts, and reasoning. I can't wrap my mind around things are seemingly missing those things.

I think my reasoning is pretty solid actually. But to each his own.
