What Has Happened To The Big 10?

Featured Replies

That’s not my thing at all. I actively root against Wisconsin and anyone not named Ohio State, unless that Big 10 Team is playing Michigan. Wisconsin has been a model of consistency for a decade now. I’m not going to act like they are somehow something they’re not over one loss.

You saying Wisconsin is better than Miami regardless of them losing to BYU is by definition pumping up the Big 10.

No it’s not irrelevant, but it doesn’t mean Wisconsin is a bad team. It means they played bad against BYU. I’d have to see more than one bad game.

Is BYU bad?

Right. Like Wisconsin losing to Miami....

Maybe so. But we’re comparing Miami and Wisconsin. We know none of those other situations are true. Could Miami be better than Wisconsin? Sure. That’s debatable because they are two teams with relatively equal talent level, relatively similar programs, and coaches that are similar in their accomplishments. Wisconsin has proven over a decade to be a really good team. Miami has 1 year where they lost they caught fire and then flamed out. 9/10 I’m going to pick Wisconsin to win.

Is BYU bad?

Relative to G5 schools? No. Relative to Wisconsin? Yes. Wisconsin should never lose to BYU. Bad games happen. One game doesn’t define a season.

Ohio State and Penn State are great teams. Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, and Iowa are solid teams. Minnesota is a decent team, Maryland wiped the field with the 4th best team in the Big 12.

Didn't Wisconsin just lose to BYU?

Of course you are. Because they're a B1G team, and whether you'll admit it or not, you want them to be as good as possible so it makes the Buckeyes look better when they run ragged through the conference.

They're relatively similar except for the fact that Wisconsin just lost to BYU at home....

Wisconsin has skated by for years by essentially playing no one. They play in one of the worst divisions of any P5 conference and they haven't played a P5 school OC in the last 2 seasons.

Actually in college football one game can and does in a lot of cases define a season.

No I don’t. Plain and simple. I hate Wisconsin. Literally my post in the results thread of that game was, “haha”. I don’t care if Wisconsin is good. I want OSU to waltz to the playoff. If Ohio State has 1 loss or loss and wins the Big 10, they are in regardless of what happens elsewhere. That’s what history has told me. 2 losses and Big 10 Champ or 1 loss and not a Big 10 champ and they should have taken care of business when they had the chance. That was my stance last year when the committee debated Bama/ OSU. Bama didn’t play a soul and OSU had 2 losses. I wanted OSU to get in and thought their resume may have been better, but said they should have taken care of business and I wasn’t upset to see Bama there.

Facts are optional here.

You saying Wisconsin is better than Miami regardless of them losing to BYU is by definition pumping up the Big 10.

No its saying exactly what it states, Wisconsin is better than Miami.

No its saying exactly what it states, Wisconsin is better than Miami.

You have zero reasoning to prove that.

I guess you win, because it's impossible to debate with someone who doesn't deal in reality.

One bad game can happen. I want a pattern of bad games to occur before I start making assertions that go against everything we've known about Wisconsin for a decade.
You have zero to prove that other than your opinion.

What is the reality?
