This one was all Belfry early.

 

Belfry was up 28-6 after running three Offensive plays and had a running clock with almost 8:00 to go in the 2nd Quarter

 

Nice night for Browning, Bentley, and Dixon. Browning was 5/6 passing with a pair of TD's and also broke a 80-yard TD run. Dixon ran a long TD, caught a long TD, and added a Pick 6.

Bentley with a nice TD reception and an INT of his own.

 

NewCath played without Kelly, Belfry was without both FB's Hensley and Mounts

 

Express running clock helped offset the delayed start from lightning a little.

 

Belfry now has to bear down for a tough matchup with a very good Pikeville team.

This one went as expected.

My take is their Oline just isn't up to the standards we have been accustomed to from NCC

 

If they get Kelly back it will help some, but right now their running game is really struggling because they can't create holes. Kramer is actually a nice looking QB and has some nice looking WR's, but they cant protect him long either.

 

Just not a vintage NCC team on the OLine or DLine. If they can get Kelly back to make plays and can find some guys to get the job done up front they can win their District and make a nice run, but right now they are just getting beat in the trenches.

As stated earlier, this was expected.Great job Belfry.

Young team, new Coach. Gee, no wonder the O-Line and D-Line are having issues. It takes time ! Goodness, it went from play-off time.... to, is it time to panic. The answer is no. Panic about what. Play-offs never should have been mentioned after seeing some 7 v. 7 games this summer. Again, it takes time. Get behind the boy's and the Coaches and enjoy the building experience. Good golly miss molly.

That Breathitt County game is the only one on that list that turns my stomach.

 

Russell and Sheldon Clark are the only home playoff losses aside from that Breathitt game. Russell in 2006 was the superior team, no shame in that one. Sheldon Clark in 2009 was simply a very bad Belfry team, no issue there.

 

That 2008 loss to Breathitt and Channing Fugate stung though. Belfry was the better team and laid an absolute egg that game.

 

Outside of that game, 2011 Johnson Central was really the only regular season game on that list that I felt Belfry was the better team and lost. Huntington last year kind of stung because Belfry blew a big lead and wore down, but they also were a bit fortunate to have that big lead to blow as Huntington wasn't firing on all cylinders to start the game.

The only other team that might be able to equal that is Mayfield. You need deep playoff runs every year and probably need to average 2 losses or less per season.
