August 27, 20188 yr If we can talk about two SEC teams, if the Big 10 Champ matches up two undefeated teams the same case could be made. I think Wisconsin would have to win to get 2 Big 10 teams in. But if you were looking at strictly resumes. A 1 loss Big 10 runner up would have a better resume than the SEC runner up and the Big 12 and Pac 12 winner. In order to have the two undefeated scenarios play out it would have to be Ohio State or Michigan State coming out of the east since Michigan and Penn State play Wisconsin. With his good Bama and GA are right now, the SEC has reservations for 1.5 in the playoffs. That’s just the way it is. Wisky needs to do a lot more for the B10 to get that status.
August 27, 20188 yr A 1 loss Big 10 runner up would have a better resume than the SEC runner up Based on pre-season rankings, maybe. We'll have to see how the season shakes out before we make that a definitive statement.
August 27, 20188 yr Author It would go either way, IMO. If both teams that play in the SEC Title game come out of that game with 1 or fewer losses, they both get in. If they are both undefeated, both get in regardless of who wins. If Bama comes in with one loss, Georgia undefeated, and Bama wins, both get in. If Georgia comes in with one loss, Bama undefeated, and Georgia wins, both get in. Maybe so. If the same scenario also plays out in the Big 10 though the Big 10 Champ would have a better resume than Georgia or Bama.

Obviously I hope our boys make this point irrelevant but let’s say Penn State beats Wiscy in the regular reason but Wiscy wins the Big 10 Champ, it would be hard to leave Penn State out.

Obviously I hope our boys make this point irrelevant but let’s say Penn State beats Wiscy in the regular reason but Wiscy wins the Big 10 Champ, it would be hard to leave Penn State out. Interesting scenarios, I just find it very hard for two B10 teams to get in.

Man I think the B10 is just gonna beat each other up this year. That's a really deep conference this year.
August 27, 20188 yr Author Man I think the B10 is just gonna beat each other up this year. That's a really deep conference this year. If I had to guess no team is going to make it through the conference schedule unscathed. Even Wiscy has to play both Michigan and Penn State. But if Wiscy makes it through unscathed and someone from the East makes it through unscathed it will be very impressive and I think it would have to garner some attention to two teams.
September 2, 20188 yr Bama, Clemson, Nortre Dame, Penn State They won’t do two SEC teams back to back years unless they absolutely have to. I say champion of the SEC gets in, it’s an extension of the playoff.
September 2, 20188 yr Does it really matter what happens in the Big 10? OSU is guaranteed to be in the playoffs with or without winning the conference.

September 2, 20188 yr What are you talking about? Exactly what I said. Doesn’t matter what or who wins the Big 10. OSU represents the conference in the playoffs.
