Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Washington.

Bama and Clemson are locks. Outside of that, I'm not sure.

I think I like this. Washington’s got a really intriguing look-ahead game when they visit Cal the week before the Stanford game, but after Auburn, I honestly don’t see anyone that can run with them.

Here’s my follow up:

Let’s assume the ACC, SEC, and Big Ten champs are all in.

Washington lost to Auburn Week 1 and then won the rest of their games.

TCU lost to Ohio State Week 3 but won the rest of their games.

Who do you take?

What about the second best SEC team?

What about the second best SEC team?

That would depend on how that team looked, how many losses they had and if they lost by 30 pts to a mediocre team or not.

Unless Auburn falls completely off the map or the game isn’t close, Washington with 1 loss is getting into the playoff IMO. I think Washington has a great chance to win the game anyways, but it’s essentially a road game against a top 10 team week 1. I’m not sure how much that could be held against them. Avoid the trap games and the let down games and Washington should be just fine.

One loss Washington doesn't get in over one loss SEC runner up.

We simply can’t discount the second SEC team, especially if GA or Auburn win the SEC title again. TCU and Washington are on the outside looking in.

Where does that one loss come? If both Alabama and Georgia are undefeated in SEC champ game and Georgia wins, I think Alabama gets in. If Alabama wins I think Washington gets in.

It would go either way, IMO. If both teams that play in the SEC Title game come out of that game with 1 or fewer losses, they both get in.

If they are both undefeated, both get in regardless of who wins.

If Bama comes in with one loss, Georgia undefeated, and Bama wins, both get in.

If Georgia comes in with one loss, Bama undefeated, and Georgia wins, both get in.

If we can talk about two SEC teams, if the Big 10 Champ matches up two undefeated teams the same case could be made. I think Wisconsin would have to win to get 2 Big 10 teams in. But if you were looking at strictly resumes. A 1 loss Big 10 runner up would have a better resume than the SEC runner up and the Big 12 and Pac 12 winner. In order to have the two undefeated scenarios play out it would have to be Ohio State or Michigan State coming out of the east since Michigan and Penn State play Wisconsin.

Pretty spot on but GA could still easily get in over Washington with a close loss to Bama.
