October 29, 200619 yr Kentucky is right back where they were prior to the SC game. Opportunity to put a notch in their belt and get Brooks his best win at UK...the one thing that has truly eluded him at UK. Sure there are other things, but frm the get go I said he needed 6 wins to save his job and he is right on the cusp of it. Two things the Cats did yesterday they hadn't done all year...ran the ball effectively and shut down the run. I believe that is the first time UK has held an opponent to under an average of 3 yards a rush in close to 30 games. Alfonso Smith with a huge game. HUGE. Cats had an opportunity to really blow the doors off this game but failed to do so. 3 possessions that started in MSU territory and didn't score any points. Great catch by Dicky Lyons... Hopefully, we will have a game effort against the Dawgs.
October 29, 200619 yr Anybody else see Dickie Lyons catch on replay? Might be the best one I've seen this year. Yes, that was an amazing catch!! Its a good thing they have replay for the refs to see!!
October 29, 200619 yr It's a good thing you're a young pup, and didn't grow up during a time when listening to the radio was usually the only way you could follow your team. Wow, you must be old.
October 29, 200619 yr Can they get 2 more wins out of this season is now the question? I think they can, although Vandy will be no pushover and probably UL-Monroe also. But I also think that if they play their best game they could be Georgia as well.
October 29, 200619 yr Nice prediction by Dicky Lyons in this one Wait, didnt Kentucky win?? And i dont think i remember him saying they WOULD beat them 49 to 0. Wasnt it something to the effect of "we need to" or "we are capable of"?? And he backed up his part of the deal anyway. Dicky Lyons is the LAST guy you need to be calling out after this game...
October 29, 200619 yr At 4-4 and needing this game....even hinting at the possibility of blowing out a team, should be last on his mind, or at least out of his mouth...when was the last time that UK routed a real team, or an SEC for that matter.

He was just trying to put a little fire under his teamates, to get them to step up and play after the 2 game losing skid. Give him a break, geez.
October 29, 200619 yr ^ Why should I give him a break? He is a very good football player, saying things like he did, obviously didn't do the job that he was hoping if your scenario were true.

October 29, 200619 yr I want to thank Dickie for speaking up. Coach Brooks and Joker wish he would simply play and run the right routes. They were not happy with him on one of the INTs that resulted because he ran the wrong route. Youthful exuberance is fine - to a point.
October 29, 200619 yr As a long suffering UK football fan, any win ,especially an SEC road win, is a welcome site. However, the D is just killing me. 31 points to a team that has only scored 20+ this season is simply awful.

October 29, 200619 yr ^ it sounded as if he was hoping for a blow out...that's what I got from it. Well we all were. But I think getting the win, was all that really mattered. Im sure someone would have complained no matter what he said in the press conference. He could have stated the obvious and said it was cold outside and im sure someone would complain about it.
