Boyle County just aren't very good mudders. They scored on the very first play and then the field evidently got muddier. Not a pretty game at all but another W. Now the fun begins with a healthy team. Go Rebs..

Good job Rebels. This turned out to be a very close game that wasn't secured until an interception by Jacob Enlow at the Rebel 4 yard line with 3 seconds remaining in the game. I hope we have much better weather for our remaining playoff games, becauise as Dadypete said, "we aren't very good mudders".

As I post this realize I have the utmost respect for Boyle County... but the quote to describe the Rebels the best may require dropping the word mudders and leaving it be. It's going to be a hard row to hoe in the playoffs... will be an excellent gut check for this young team.

I agree with Daddypete, this Rebel team is going to be tough in the playoffs,can't wait to get started this coming Friday. Don't you just love football in November?:jump: :banana: :jump:Oh, by the way, nice win over a good Russell Co. team,but it was a little messy with the mud and all.

From the picture Rebel it looks like it did in '78 and '79. ('80 it started raining that night and got bad but not as bad as the previous 2 years)

Hatz......me, abe and hoehead talked about how this brought back memories of past Russell County games from the late 70's. Yes it poured cats and dogs at those games, but nothing comes close as to what these players had to play in Friday night in the slop. I have more grass on my cow pastor, or pig pen than was on that field.

NOT. I think we'll just keep right on giving it our best shot and see what happens. Last time I looked, we were that bad and I can't understand that not normal remark....not normal compared to past teams? Well good gravy...there are a lot of teams that aren't normal if you had to compare yourself to the last 5 to 6 years from Boyle County.

 

I don't mean to sound pitty but you have to take the "Boyle is so bad" quotes and take them as a compliment. I have watched football for a lot of years and I can't ever remember hearing as much glee as I have this year with the Boyle season. Oh well, win or lose, these kids have proved way more to me than any team ever had. They have proved that they can still make a decent showing while having so many "nay sayers" against them. They have shown me so much heart and for that I will always have to have a special place in my heart for this team.

 

If these kids can still walk out on the field with their heads high after all they have been through this year ---- then I think there isn't anything they can accomplish if they want it bad enough.
