woodsrider
I think many are minimizing what Koepka did and who he is since he is not a household name. Dude is a mentally tough bulldog. He knew exactly what Tiger was doing and matched him. Koepka has won three of the past six majors he has played in. Don't forget Koepka is coming off a four-month recovery from a major wrist injury that sidelined him to start the season through this year's Masters. I don't disagree but he's also a dude that has only 1 non major PGA tour win. For some reason this dude seems to play his best in the big tournaments but hasn't found the same level of success in regular everyday tournaments. GrantNKY
Of course they feel pressure. It's non sense to say otherwise. We've seen these young guys have some bad moments in majors under pressure. The pressure seemed to get to Thomas on Sunday. Fowler crumbles to the pressure every major it seems. They may feel the pressure but it doesn’t bother them. They don’t change their game to accomodate the pressure they feel. They just go out a play golf. Brooks may have well been playing a casual Sunday round with his buddies as opposed to winning the PGA.

Again, there are plenty of examples where these guys have folded under pressure.
GrantNKY
Koepka played as good as he ever has and Tiger couldn't find a fairway with a Garmin. Tiger almost pulled it off. Tiger's A game is still better than anyone else. Nobody is rooting harder for Tiger than I am, and his A game may still be better than anyone else, but his B game is simply not enough anymore. He needs four rounds of his A game every week to win and he only brought it for 3 days at the PGA.

He won so much because he rarely didn't have his A game.
woodsrider
Just because you end up losing doesn’t mean you folded under the pressure. When you are at the top and blow up isn't that folding under the pressure? If not what is? How can you say these guys don't feel the pressure if you have no measure of it? How can you say these guys don't feel the pressure if you have no measure of it? Golf is too difficult of a sport to say just because someone leading after 54 holes and loses means they folded under pressure. They probably just played poorly. Also sometimes someone behind you just plays really well. Brooks had a 4 shot lead on Tiger after 54 holes. If Brooks shoots 69 on Sunday he loses because Tiger shot a 64. 69 isn’t a bad round of golf but sometimes you just have to tip your cap.

You're building these current guys up to be some kind of mental freaks. Then you discredit any measure to prove otherwise. So going by your logic how are the current guys any different than guys at the top when Tiger was in his prime? Those guys still gave Tiger a run, they just weren't as consistently good. Tiger's B game meant he finished top 10 instead of winning. No different than this past weekend. Again, Koepka will never play better than he did this weekend and he only beat a Tiger B game by 2 strokes. Tiger's A is still better than ANYONE else on tour. 75center
Since that was his best score ever in a major, how is it not already his A game? Listening this morning, talking heads said if he had hit the fairways it doesn't mean he would have scored better than a 64. He just wouldn't have needed some of the other outstanding shots that came about due to the missed fairways. They said at 43 with his injury history that may be the best he's got. There are more elite golfers now than there ever has been before. That’s not an opinion it’s a fact. A lot of these guys are mental freaks.
