Final. The Raiders now earn a return trip to Russell for the 1st round of the playoffs. EC is making their 6th straight trip to the playoffs.

Tough road to hoe for Morgan County this season with all the injuries.

Congratulations to the Raiders on making the playoffs, and good luck next week against the Red Devils.

Congrats to East Carter on the win and good luck next week.:thumb:

:thumb: It certainly was a tough year of injuries for the Cougars. I hope that they can continue the improvement they have shown in the last few years.

A tough 2-8 season for Morgan County. However, I felt like they were playing pretty decent football and were better than their record indicated. With the hard hit of graduation compounded by a horrific injury list this season, the Cougars were behind the 8 ball all year. To add salt to the wounds, the Cougars had to have recorded a record breaking year for fumbles. Nobody's fault, that's just the way it was going this season.

I really have admired John Robert Henderson and his toughness. Maybe nobody tougher at MCHS than Mr. Henderson. I enjoyed the 4 years of West Montgomery and I think some colleges really need to take a took at him as a strong safety/corner position. Steven McNeal, Charles Gilbert, Mike Paul Fugate, and in season addition Matt Harris had great years. Another 1st year player #!4 Zach Burton was impressive each and every game. Wished he would have played the three previous years.

Next season the Cougars will return some key players and could get some help from some newcomers and existing athletes at the school. They will still have to solve the quarterback issue, but all indications point to Freshman #5 Kyle Havens to be under center. Key for next season will be the rehab of sophomore Brandon Ward and the development of a defensive line that can help stop the run.

Coach Randy Wood did another excellent job coaching this cougar team with all the kinks in the armour that they faced. He has proven to be a top notch coach and motivator of the rejuvenated Cougar football program.

Hats off to East Carter and Coach Damron on their playoff birth once again. Defensively they are sounds and can make plays and have athleticism.

Hasn't Morgan had success in the first two years that Woods was there. Its hard to overcome the injuries, look at UK. Graduation hurts as well.

Maybe with a 4 team district next year, the Cougars can make the playoffs again. Good luck to the kids that have the chance to make it to the next level.
