Bardstown 28 Bethlehem 0

Tigers end the season unbeaten for the second year in a row.

Congrats to the Tigers! I couldn't imagine what it would have been like on a dry field.

Bardstown held Billy Jackson to 12 total yards in the whole game

Tiger lineman punished Bethlehem, this was total domination. Nice game for Kelvin Scott, TD runs of 13, 85, and 1 yard, to go with Paul Downs' 63 yd. jaunt on the third play from scrimmage. Only reason score was not worse was because Tigers fumbled once and turned it over on downs once inside the Eagle 5 ydline in the second half.

Eagles were hapless offensively. Tigers held Billy Jackson to 12 yds rushing, Eagle to team to 108 total. Nice effort by FB/LB Kent Simpson on the losing end. Have their work cut out for them, even at home, against Holy Cross rematch next week. I am worried about resurgent Cougars.

Bardstown is my current choice to win it all. Subject to change, but they have been the most consistant team this year.

Didnt attend this game. Did it appear Bethlehem pulled out all the stops to win or maybe they held something back IF they have a rematch?

Bethlehem was out of sorts. The mud hurt them. They tried to run some spread sets, but no trick plays or anything. Defense was the same alignment, but noticeably missing Kaylin Williams. However, they would not have prevailed even with Kaylin, and that should not be used as an excuse for the loss. They got beaten up up front. This game was won at the line of scrimmage.

Thanks to all the Bethlehem supporters who worked so hard to make this game exciting and accommodating the fans. Tailgating was lively, pregame show was very interesting with all the former players coming back to comment onthe game and reliving the past successes of Bardstown and St Joe Prep. And the weather gods were smiling on us tonight as it was a perfect night for football (aside from the wet field- but what can you do about that?) Bethlehem has made GREAT strides with their program and will continue to do so. Bardstown played really well tonight and deserves every thing they get. Hardest working bunch of kids I've seen in a while. Their greatest asset- Team Unity! Good luck in the playoffs!!!

Good post.

The Bardstown line who dominated were T-Ben Riley G-Michael Thompson C-Jeremy Guesser G-Aj Lewis T-Ryan Underwood. I think they played their best game all season last night. If They keep this up the Tigers will be one of the hardest teams to beat in the playoffs

Congrats on the win by Bardstown and going undefeated...good luck to you guys and in the playoffs.

Guess my predictions of a big special teams/defensive play didn't pan out. Oh well-nice win Tigers; earning that home field advantage is huge for them, especially now that they will get to face either Bethlehem or Holy Cross in a rematch in round 2 at their place(a tough place for visiting teams to go in my opinion). Downs and Co. just keep on rolling; probably has some of the best momentum in Class A going into the playoffs-look out Class A!!

Bardstown looked very good. The field was no factor on the outcome. Neither team showed much of what you might expect in the playoffs. Obviously the worse game Bethlehem played all year but Bardstown can be looked at as the cause of that. Bethlehem will have to regroup and play much better or they will face elimination next week.

On a positive note for Bethlehem; this type of attendance and attention will go along way in helping their program. I noticed last night that there were boys from St. Catherine, St. James, St. A's in attendance and all wearing Bethlehem blue. Let's hope that in the future they will be able to dress more than 24 players.

Amen. All in all, that type of game produced a positive atmosphere, even if the game result was not for Bethlehem.

I disagree about the mud. In fact, I think the reason neither team varied it very much was because of the conditions. Now, I agree I don't think it factored in the end result, but Bethlehem couldn't run pitch, counter or anything for that matter that required a cut. Billy just had no footing at all. Bardstown was content to run veer, and it was fullback, QB, fullback, and then POP, run lead to Scott for a TD. If you're good up the middle, you win the mid game.

My choice to win class A is whatever team represents Northern Ky.
