Crittenden County 2018

Featured Replies

What does Crittenden County need to do to improve in 2018? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

This is definitely a dark horse team for 2018. Can they beat Russellville? I don't know, but will be fun to follow.

The short answer is "yes". This is a senior dominated team with plenty of talent. Just like all small school teams if they stay healthy there is a good chance for a semi state game.

I have my eye on this team. They return tons of talent and playmakers. Looking forward to the season in class A.

From what I've heard folks around Marion seem to have the highest expectations for this team as they've had in 10+ years. Return a ton of seniors included perhaps the best QB and receiver in school history.

Good QB and WR. Not the best in school history.

Who would be considered better? The receiver has some crazy stats.

That’s a product of the offensive system. I’d consider the Berry kid from I think 2004 the best QB and his WR TK Guess the best WR, that Crittenden has produced.

Will Crittenden County be considered a top 10 or even top 5 team this year. The Russellville game will say a lot since the Rockets will have to make the trip to Rhea Stadium this year.

Definitely a top 10 team. This team returns to much. They will need to get better defensively.

Be interesting being the first year with out Coach Starnes leading the way. Offense will be good and defense should be improved. They played several Freshmen at the end of the season due to injuries which provided great experience. They made a deep run last year but I think that was mostly due to Russellville being in a down year. Both teams will be improved this year and should be a good game again.

The Russellville game will be the key game for Crittenden County this year. An interesting question I have was when was the last time Crittenden County beat Russellville at Russellville?

Why is Russellville the key game? For home field advantage in the playoffs?

On that possible playoff rematch, don't forget Campbellsville will be in the way. One of the two will have to beat Campbellsville to get a playoff rematch.

The Russellville game is important for Crittenden County for 3 reasons.

1. It will determine the district title since the

Fulton schools are in a constant

tailspin.

2. It will determine home field for at least

the first two rounds of the playoffs.

3. Russellville and Crittenden County have

played each other quite a few times over

the years.

I also would not consider Campbellsville a lock to play Crittenden County in the playoffs. Campbellsville is in the same district as Louisville Holy Cross, who have a highly sought freshman lineman that is being pursued by schools such as Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida State.

Campbellsville’s District does not include Louisville Holy Cross this year (That’s 2019/2020) C-Ville District is the same (Bethlehem, Ft Knox, Caverna) and, if it does play out like last year, Crittenden will be making the 3 hour drive this year... can’t wait to see how it all shakes out...
