South Laurel frosh Phoebe McCowan just broke the KY all-class record in the 800M by 1.5 seconds. Go Lady Cards!

J'town's Kaleb McDonald won all of today's individual sprint events (100M, 200M, 400M).

Bryan Hudson (Scott Co. > Virginia Tech) starts off his day with a win in the Shot Put. A PR of 63-9.5 breaks the 3A record and Bryan is now the #4 KY all-time performer. Congrats!

 

Hudson has been one of the top discus throwers in the country for the past couple of years. Weather conditions are rough today, but he's capable of topping 200 ft. Go Bryan!

 

And he is a junior so he will be back next year.

Girls - Tates Creek 57, Male 54, Central 47, Manual 39, Sacred heart 34.5.

 

Boys - Trinity 67, Henry Clay 46, Male 44, St. X 40, Frederick Douglass 28

Bryan has a high ceiling. I understand one of the reasons he chose to be a Hokie was that he wants to continue his track career as well as play football.

Simon Kenton's Kyle Mastin finishes a great HS career, finishing 2nd in the 3200M! Does anyone know which colleges are recruiting Kyle? Coaches Steve Kruse at NKU and Jimmy Vargo at Bellarmine could be getting a steal.

I think Male has locked up it's third straight girls championship. They can score a few more points in the Triple Jump and Tates Creek looks to be out of scoring opportunities. After 15 events scored - Male is up by three, 74-71.

There were some studs out there. Summe was .13 off of CCH’s school record. Took home 8th. Has next year to better that time!!

Congrats to Luke. I was there but left after Coopers 4x 800. Had a wedding to attend. NKY was represented well. Congrats to all the seniors. Now it’s time for some football.
