I think Ryle wins big in this game. They have the size and speed to push people around. Although Dixie has great speed i don't believe they're physical enough to stay with Ryle.

Not physical enough ,WOW ! While your at it , why not just tell them there to small to play and hit like girls also ! And don't forget , Dixie hates the mud too ! They've never played in it before , there a turf team only !:D

This is nothing new though, is it? Is there a new groundskeeper, no funds to upkeep the field, etc?

:thumb: Agreed. It's not like they hadn't been playing those same games in the past, and the field held up great. It has to be some type of change in maintenance, IMO. I hate to see the field look like it does because it was once a great facility. Maybe coach Warner is just trying to make it look bad so that the Boone Co. school board will approve turf.:D

One thing about having 70 stars on a team . One comes out and one goes in .:D I hope its nothing serious !:thumb:

Have any idea why the field has looked so bad over the last couple of years? I understand that some games have been played in the rain, but that happened in years past and the field held up wonderfully. Our field used to be a sight to behold, and now it's..........well not. Just wondering if anyone had any info as to why the field is in such bad shape here of late.

The word from someone "in the know" is that someone talked the school into changing the type of grass that was being used and told them that it would save them a lot of money. Bad idea from what it sounds like.

WEATHER REPORT - there goes the passing game. Gonna be 3 yards and a cloud of mud. Revising my pick to Ryle 14 - Dixie 0

Both teams are physical. Passing games may well suffer with a wet ball on a cold night and noone gets a normal push on a slick field. Looking forward to a great game.

Thanks for the info cshs, that sounds about par for the course. I remember when Pat Green(the former, maybe current?, groundskeeper for Triple Crown) was in charge of field maintenance. I can't say that I've ever seen a grass field in much better shape, year in and year out. Sometimes it's not about saving a few pennies......

As for the game, with all of the rain and the cold, I know many are leaning towards the Ryle running game and "power" football. Let me be the first to say, and Dixie fans can certainly attest to this, that playing in the mud doesn't necessarily benefit the "better" team. If anything, I think it levels the playing field somewhat, taking away some of the speed and athleticism.

We were talking about irony, well Sandman, Red Heat, Fisky, I've got an very ironical possibility. What if Dixie wins this week, in the mud, b/c it neutralizes some of Ryle's speed and athleticism. Follow that up next week with a loss at your place on the turf and, well, maybe people will actually be calling to bring the old field back!

That is true. Dixie does have alot of talent, size, and speed but this late into the season i dont see someone filling his spot thats ready for this big of a game. My vote is DIXIE ON TOP still :dancingpa

OK , I'll let the secret out . We have a retractable turf field ! Roll it back and theres our old Dirt Turf field ! Mud , pot holes and all !

Any reason why? He went out hurt in the Campbell County game, but he came back in and finished the game.
