Been with Verizon for five years and thinking of switching to T-Mobile. The Verizon reps try to tell me that T-Mobile's service is terrible, I will not have antenna, and lose calls everyday. The commercials tell a common story. How much stake should I put into the "service area" argument?

I can't speak for T-Mobile. But I've had Verizon in the past for a work phone and it worked very well, almost everywhere. I just switched from Sprint to ATT and not only am saving almost $200/month (mostly on the buy one/get one phone specials as I have 6 lines), I also get free HBO and a $15 discount per month on my Directv service. Also, the service seems to be much better. From what I read when looking at various carriers before switching, T-Mobile's service is solid as well, and while Verizon and ATT are the top of the list in terms of coverage, T-Mobile is no more than just a hair behind.

A couple people at work have T-Mobile (Highland Heights area), and they're constantly complaining about it. I have no personal experience, but I have with nearly all other carriers. Verizon was the best with AT&T a close second. The only reason I left Verizon was the discount I got at work with Cincinnati Bell, and now AT&T.

Verizon has the best coverage and if you frequent areas that are rural it's not even close. I had AT&T for years and it was solid, other than the constant increases in billing. After I cancelled I received a letter telling me that I was awarded money from a class action lawsuit against AT&T due to over billing. I researched it and it seemed legit, however after the class action attorneys got their money it was essentially pointless for me to take the time to get the small amount that was left over for me.

That said, Verizon and AT&T are still the best when it comes to coverage. However I can get 4g speeds of around 30mb/s when I'm at the camper in mineral springs Ohio where my friends that have AT&T can make phone calls and texts but internet is essentially non existent.

All of these use the AT&T network. Both of my sons switched to Straight Talk a couple years ago and say they can't tell a difference.

While I don't know many that have T-Mobile, the few I do are constantly complaining about how horrible it is.

I've had Verizon for a good 6-7 years, probably longer and never had issues with service.

I have Verizon and it is the only service that is available no matter what rural destination I wind up in. My sister who lives near Rough River used to have AT&T and had to eventually use my address in Louisville to get a Verizon plan so she could have service at her house.

My my mom lives outside of Leitchfield and she had to go outside to make a cell call with whatever company they use. I have no problems with my Verizon service.

I have no problems here at the Resort and with the exception of 2 1-mile stretches in my commute, never have an issue with my service. Our company phones are Verizon because there is no reliable alternative in Rural south-central Indiana

I have never had any service besides Verizon in my life. I know a lot of people switch around because of pricing, but I feel I get great value from Verizon. So, I may pay more than some think is a appropriate, there are a lot of variables I feel like Verizon addresses for me and that makes the price a lesser priority for me.

I’m on ATT. Can’t remember last time Ive had a call dropped and I travel all over.

All of these use the AT&T network. Both of my sons switched to Straight Talk a couple years ago and say they can't tell a difference.

I switched to Straight Talk 5 or 6 years ago and I've had very few issues with it. I love not being tied to a contract also.
