Next Kentucky Coach After Cal?

Featured Replies

Yea, you are right....he is a terrible coach. SMH

He’s clearly not a terrible coach, but his style and strategy is outdated and needs to change. Not that easy to do.

He isn’t leaving UofL for UK...

There is no way he leaves X for UL. He has it made there plus he's from Cincy. I just don't see it happening.

Never said he is terrible. He obviously is a good coach. With that said coaching at UK is a whole different animal. Your not just a coach you are basically the spokes person for the whole state. You will be questioned every move. If you don't get every top player recruiting people will say he doesn't recruit good enough. If he gets guys the top guys people will say he needs more guys who stay. As with Tubby people will complain about his style of play being boring. Then ultimately it all comes down to winning in the big dance. If you don't make final fours people will complain about that. If you make final fours people will say you should have won more titles.

Then ultimately following Cal just makes it harder. Someone like him would always be looked at as a Tubby 2.0. So while he is a very good coach. He doesn't seem like the best match here. Especially when he has had top teams and still gets knocked out early.
