The Notre Dame site that I frequent is apparently unaware of Proffitt's commitment to the Irish, however, they have quite a bit about his new classmate and former UK target Tyrone Nash. Of course they are just a little bit distracted with Football. I'm sure they will realize that they have a basketball team sometime around Jan 2nd.

Chris Parsons has a great local article about Proffitt in today's edition of the Times-Tribune.

Ty also hasn't given up on playing high school baseball his senior year, which, I hope, that he plays because he's also a very good player on the diamond.

I don't want to mention any schools, but I've heard from a fairly reliable source, that an offer is pending from a D1 college or has been given....

He definitely has D1 offers and Notre Dame is one of them. I heard from a family member within the past few weeks that he would probably be committing to Notre Dame, but didn't think it would be quite this soon. They have been down to visit him and he thoroughly enjoyed his visit to the campus. He will be a great fit for the Fighting Irish and will definitely give me yet another reason to cheer for Notre Dame!

UF among UK and others have been actively recruiting Ty. However, UF was a little too far from home and I am not sure if they had offered yet. South Bend, is a good 6 hours away from London, but still much closer than UF.

 

Coach Brey is not only getting a top notch player, but a very good kid who quite obviously has a good head on shoulders as well.
