TAC Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 That was a horrible basketball game. 13 points at half for UCF! Good to see what the upper level looks like with bodies in it. This was my first look at UC live this year. They are pretty good. My brother took me to the game. Had to park at skyline since parking garage was already full though we had a parking pass. We ended up with 3 extra tickets and became heroes when we sold them to 2 guys at the closed ticket window who didn’t realize the game was sold out. They got 3 tickets for $40, face value was $90 ($30 each) . Thanks for dinner and a drink!

A little late to this post, but...this conference is much improved compared to last year and better than they get credit for. Just ask Wichita, who was expected to roll through the conference by the national media but have 3 losses already. RPI Rating for each team: UC- 10 Wichita- 24 Houston- 34 Temple- 38 UCF- 70 SMU- 75 Tulsa- 82 UConn- 101 Memphis- 128 Tulane- 133 USF and ECU are terrible. OUT of conference: Temple has wins over Clemson, Auburn, and South Carolina. Houston has wins over Providence and Arkansas. SMU has wins over Arizona and USC. Wichita has wins over Marquette and Baylor. UCF has a road win over Bama and decent win over Nebraska. Tulsa has a decent win over Kansas State. UCONN has a decent win over Oregon. This conference is very similar to the Big 10 if we are looking at RPI: Purdue-12 Ohio St- 15 Michigan St- 22 Michigan- 39 Nebraska- 55 (lost to UCF) Maryland- 60 Penn St- 85 Northwestern- 87 Indiana- 107 Minnesota- 126 Wisconsin- 141 (Lost to Temple)

With SMU sinking due to injuries and Temple with some work to do, it appears that UC, WSU and Houston are the locks. The conference has some decent wins but the conference has some really horrid losses. UC has a great shot at running the table and their defense is in lock down mode. One question I do have and may be spitballing here, but the AAC is an offensively challenged league. Does the dearth of offensive teams over inflate UC's defense? I mean it is daggone good but with the lack of offensive teams in the conference...does it skew the numbers a bit? I believe there are only like 4 teams in the top 100 in offensive efficiency. UC Houston WSU SMU--sinking due to injuries. Temple hovering near the 100 cut off.
oldrambler Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 I live watching Cincinnati play. They have always been a top notch defensive team and this year they have the offensive play to go along with it.
