Who wins?

I'll say Detroit in five. The Tigers have the necessary pitching, and while I love watching Carpenter, he's no Bob Gibson.

Tigers in 6 and looking forward to this series, my two favorites teams but always been a Detroit fan....

My head say Tigers but my heart says Cards

Of course, my family is rooting for Sean Casey. No doubt there.

But don't count the Cardinals out. They don't have a strong pitching staff and yet they beat the Mets and shut down that powerful lineup in several games. Pujols contributed one RBI in 7 games and yet they won. Rolen did not do much, yet they won. They were 1 of 19 with RISP for a stretch in the series, yet they won.

Excellent points. Thank you!

I will still be cheering for the Tigers though.:D

Verlander is the game 1 starter for Detroit.

Atta boy....:thumb: I'll have you over to work the grille tomorrow, bring the steaks and sauce....

How many of us, thought at the beginning of the year the Tigers, would be playing the Cardinals.....Cardinals had to be considered by many but not Detroit.

This series has some excellent talent, starting pitching, relief pitching, power, very good defense, strong up the middle/catchers and two managers, which can make a difference in the outcome of a game.

There was a story in one of the newspapers that I read, earlier in the week that Leyland and Larussa were at dinner this spring with several members of the Detroit front office and staff.

Leyland told LaRussa he had a good team and they would be back to the WS. LaRussa said the same to Leyland. Several members of the Tigers good naturedly laughed and he repeated it and said he meant it.
