interesting, NKY weather is saying it will start around 2am.

If you read my first call post I said there will be some snow in the morning but the main round of snow will be in the afternoon. Plus I was answering a question about when it might start in the Louisville area not NKY.

Sunday evening update on snow accumulations

I'm still seeing 1-3" from I-64 northward. This includes Louisville, Cincinnati/NKY, Maysville, and Ashland. South of I-64 a swath of 1-3" from Bowling Green to Jackson. Southeast KY from a 1-2".

There is a part of Kentucky from just east of Bowling Green towards Richmond that the NAM is showing 3-5". The Glasgow area is in an area that may get upwards to 6". As of tonight most of this snow will fall from Monday afternoon until Tuesday morning. There will be snow/snow showers early Monday morning that could produce some light accumulations along the Ohio River.

Everyone take care and I will update early in the morning. Travel could be difficult at times on Monday into Tuesday.

Local weather up here posted that it would start around 2am so you are saying later in the day, thanks.

I believe 2 am is in the morning.

Just as a reminder my first call post plainly shows I stated that there will be some snow showers in the morning.

This is my first call for snow for Monday/Tuesday. After some possible snow showers in the morning. The main round of snow will come early Monday afternoon. The Cincinnati/NKY, WKY, and Louisville areas should see the initial new snow accumulations. WKY could see 2-4" of snow by early evening on Monday. Louisville around an inch. Cincinnati/NKY 1-3" by this same time. The snow will move southeast across Kentucky. For now, it looks like some may not even get much accumulation as the accumulations look to be spotty at best.

Thank you, I'm not worried. He just wanted to misconstrue my post. There is always some who do this. I've gone through it on my job also when I post weather information for all the employees.

Excuse me? Post 11 and 13 both say snow in the afternoon. NKY News has posted that the snow will begin around 2am. Just trying to figure out which is correct.

It is plain as day in post 11. I said there will be some snow showers during the morning but the main snow will fall later on Monday. Now for post number 13 that was an answer to a question about what time will the snow start in LOUISVILLE. Now you stated that the forecaster in NKY said it was going to start at 2 am. Unless I miss something Louisville has not been moved to the NKY area.

So you are not reading the post correctly or you are reading what you want to read into the posts.

This is my last comment on this. We'll just have to disagree on this.

What about WKY west of the lakes area?

Thanks.

How about the Frankfort/Lawrenceburg area? We have home basketball games tomorrow night at 600 with Washington County and with any appreciable snow we would need to cancel, looking to make the call by 1:00 pm tomorrow.

As of this morning the HRRR model which is quite accurate it is showing around an inch. I have to switch to the NAM 3km to go pass that time and it is still showing around an inch on the ground by 11 pm. It seems that the Alberta Clipper that will bring the snow later today maybe slowing down. I'll post another update for you before 1 pm today.

As of this morning, I'm seeing 1-3". I will try and post an update before I go to work if the latest modeling info is released in time.

Monday morning update.

Here is the very latest data from the weather models. After this morning snow showers, the Clipper does indeed seem to be slowing down. Now it seems that the snow will linger until Tuesday afternoon. I'm still seeing a general 1-3 inches of snow for most of the state. The heaviest amounts seem to be in WKY which could possibly receive more than 3 inches.

The following is the map from the NAM 3km. It shows 1-3" by Tuesday afternoon with some spots maybe receiving more especially in WKY.

The NAM is showing the possibility of heavier accumulations especially in WKY and between I-65 and I-75. It is showing the possibility of 4-7" in WKY and 4-6" in a spot bordered by Bowling Green, Somerset, Richmond, and Elizabethtown. In NKY maybe 4".

Alberta Clippers are known for dropping lesser amounts of snow so will have to wait and see if the heavier amounts come to fruition.

Updates later today and on our Twitter page whenever possible.

Take care and be weather aware through tomorrow.
