We're talkiing in the context of district competition. Russell doesn't play themselves ... they play the other teams in their district. I don't know that Russell's competition is better than Corbin's, and vice versa. They look pretty comparable to me.

 

I will agree with this, it is my mistake for looking at the arguement the wrong way. In fact I will now totally agree that in terms of competition the greatest disparity woluld be Russell's... but, IMO if you want to simply say which 2A district is the weakest from top to bottom then it would be Corbin's.

Hey reddevilmvp06 better toot your horn while you can cause you wont be in this "weak district" next year. You'll have teams with the skills on the field in 07.

Mason County in. Powell Co, Estill Co and Fleming Co out. East Carter, West Carter and Lewis Co remain.

Caldwell Co. has had some pretty good teams in the pst, makin alot of noise regular season. Allways heard alot of talk about them but once playoffs got around they never got over the hump. Hopefully they will live up to all the expectations of now and past.

 

Caldwell County has been to the playoffs eleven (11) times, compiling a 14-9 all-time record. Twice they have won the state title. On only three (3) occasions have the lost in the first round, but other than their state championship seasons, they have never been past the second round of the playoffs.

According to Massey, the average ranking of all the teams in 2A District 3 (Larue, Western) is 18.3.

 

The actual ranking of Newport, the second ranked team behind Mercer in District 5, is 17th.

 

Next toughest district top to bottom is district 1 (20.8) followed by District 4 (21.5). Russell's district (36.2 avg. ranking of the teams) ranks last. There are only 53 teams in Class 2A.
