Clearly you haven't watched Philpot much. When he's in the game it changes. When he's not, ball possession goes down. He's either grabbing the rebound or opening up the basket for someone else to get it. We are halfway through the season and I've only seen one player from Madison central give him a run for his money. Most of the time he's being double teamed. You need to watch him closer he's a force

I've watched him for the last few years and know he is a force down low. Nothing against the kid at all, just my opinion.

How many of these kids that we are talking about in this conversation that have college interest or offers at this time? I mean everyone on this site has their opinions but if there are colleges that have some serious interest in some of these kids and some have offers already as well that has to stand for something because college coaches look at all aspects of game and not just scoring. How many of these kids are defending the best players on the floor night in and night out, who is winning the fifty fifty balls in the games, deflections, steals, blocks, who is willing to throw themselves in the stands just to save a ball. I think these are things that get over looked when it comes to these conversations but those are all the small things that wins ballgames that don't show up in stat books.

I have been preaching this for years. Why I post team stats on our games.

Yes he is a force and agree he did so many litlle things for us to win last night, as did others on the team. We play as a team, what I love about this group.

I have watched Philpot play and I really like his game. I think he and Clos are a lot alike in a lot of ways. They both do what's best for their teams. They can score the ball at will, do all the small things that most kids don't like to do and are both very unselfish players.

Agree very unselfish player as our whole team is this way. Just watch our bench. I love watching them when another player does well. They are up clapping and cheering for them.

I gotta go with Campbell County’s Clos. I know he has a twin sister but it’s as if he has a twin brother on the court with him. Do yourself a favor and go watch a Camels game. I’ve seen him dive out of bounds to save a ball on the visitors end only to beat most players back to the other end and rebound or score. Like there are two of him out there. Always on the floor scraping and scrapping for the ball. Looks good on the stat sheet but more impressive is heart and hustle, which college scouts have noticed too.

Paps, welcome to BGP and nice first post.

Welcome to BGP. I gotta agree with PVP on this. Tanner does a lot of things that don't show up on a stat sheet, like the diving for a loose ball. Kid has a ton of heart, and I always enjoy watching him play.

These are the kind of kids I pick out and love to watch. Why I think too much emphasis is point on just points.

Everyone should love heart and hustle players but let's not overlook the work that's put in during the off season to build the skills that scorers have. It takes the same heart and hard work to perfect your craft.

In the offseason... or EVERY day you're the 1st student in the building putting up shots before school.

Not over looking that at all, but when talking about top players, first thing brought up his how many points he scores. IMO that is not the only thing to consider.
