There will be no mention of Homecoming and no festivites at the football game.

 

They can only schedule a game at Newport Stadium on a Friday night if Newport is not using the field. If you look at the NCC home schedule the Holy Cross, Beechwood, CovCath home game were all on Saturday and only the Bracken Co home game will be on a Friday.

 

Plus you have to co-ordinate finding a facility that has dates available.

 

And until the turf installation this year there was always a chance that the field would be unplayable on a Friday night (which was Newport's call) and games could be moved to Saturday.

 

Basically the most realistic solution is to have Homecoming on a Saturday following an away game on a Friday night.

There is a huge project in the planning stages, but nothing finalized as far as I know. The plans sound good, major face lift for the hill.

There are plans for a field on the Hill along with numerous other improvements. But that is years and millions of $$$ away.

There are a couple of plans. One would put a field on the hill near the present practice field but would be very costly and like it was said years away. Another field plan would involve co-operation amoung some of the NKY Catholic high schools and the Catholic college (Thomas More) in NKY that would cost less and could be completed sooner.

No. The field turf was put in by Newport schools. NCC/Newport game that draws the largest crowd is always a home game for Newport and that helps pay for the "rental".

They don't have enough room for a football field (no goal post on one end of the practice field because a kicked extra point would land in Wendy's drive-thru) and to even mention more parking, and stands. They could try to buy out K-mart, and the other shops at the bottom of the hill, but I think the diocese money is going to pay for other things.

Hurricane, I agree. Where would they put all that on top of the hill? The K-Mart location is their best bet to stay close to campus.

Why doesn't someone start a thread about where NCC is going to build a field and lets get this back to the game.Thanks:thumb:
