Just like a win is a win, a loss is a loss, it doesn't matter how bad you look, it all counts the same.

 

Sorry but this isn't the NFL. In college the life blood of a program is recruiting. You can only sell playing time for so long. Getting Waxed by UofL, the trick play at the end of the USC game, getting absolutely waxed by LSU doesn't much impress the recruits. Mark it down, UK will never be a winner with this coach. Its an up hill battle at UK in football, but at least give yourselves a chance.

As am I still saying "Go Big Blue" r4p. I always will be but I just can't be in agreement of Brooks and his entire staff. A bowl game would be nice but I am not so sure (really doubt) that the Cats will get 6 wins. I am also not very excited about a 6 win season making a bowl game either. That is a .500 season being rewarded, not just UK - other 6 win teams will be in a bowl and I feel the same way.

Bobby Johnson from Vandy puts a better product on the field than Brooks and company does. He was the coach at Furman prior to Vandy, tell Mitch to get out and shake those 1AA bushes. How about the guy at Tulsa that Jurich was lining for UofL when it was thought that Petrino might leave. You have to take a chance on someone with a high energy level. I blame Barnhart for the football teams failures. He boasted about only hiring a proven head coach to replace Morris (a shot at Jurich for bringing in untested Petrino). Well who looks smarter now? He wasted all that time courting the Tuna and came up with an empty net. Next thing you know its hello Grampa Brooks.

You all act like you are surprised at the outcome of this game. Did anyone really thing that UK would be competitive with LSU at their home? The outcome of this game is pretty much as I expected it would be. UK has shown me that they are improved from last season. Last season they would not have beaten Ole Miss or Central Michigan. But I won't let those wins go to my head and think that UK is all of a sudden able to play on par with LSU. You have to learn to walk before you can run, but in UK's case they're going to have to spend some time crawling before they can even walk. Let's face it, UK is never going to be one of the top teams in the SEC year in and year out.

Come on, Jay. Brooks really hasn't had enough time to turn this thing around. Remember - it only took him 13 years in his first try at the collegiate level.

:thumb: :thumb: I agree on both of these ponts Frances, and the 13 years at the college level his "defining moment" so to speak was taking Oregon to the Rose Bowl. I may be wrong but wasn't this when the pac 10 was probably the worst conference in the country? As for the "give him more time" crowd. I have already heard that a few times. As for part of the statement that I didn't quote about the burning of the house, I just can't support that kind of violence:D :lol: . A one way plane or bus ticket to anywhere would be sufficient accompanied by a moving van in front of his and Archers house.

I 100% agree on Johnson :thumb: , but watch saying "shake the 1AA bushes", the last time UK did that we ended up with Hal Mumme.:scared:

Saturday Night in Death Valley was truly special. 90K fans roaring and ready to go. The campus is beautiful and most fans were hospitable. Of course our LONG walk to the stadium brought on numerous "Tiger Bait", "Tiger Bait" calls. I found the first few as funny good natured ribbing. Then after a while it began to be pretty annoying. I laughed at many, you would have a father of 3 with his wife walking and he'd rip off a "Tiger Bait" and look away like he didn't say it.

Of course, I had been tailgating a while so after a while I started firing back "Tastes like Gator!", then a few people got upset...LOL.

Our seats were in the UK contingent, luckily. It was ugly quick so I gave a Bronx cheer after a good UK punt. While the only one standing a bunch of LSU fans started on me...I just put my hand to my ear, asking for more. They started rattling all kinds of things off...finally I said "You all will make it to Atlanta, the Peach Bowl is nice."..IT was probably best that I left at the end of the third quarter.

As for the game...Ouch.

Pitiful. 4 straight years of road tripping and each of those 4 years the Cats have looked bad.

Same worn out cliches from Brooks.

They have a shot at a bowl game, still, but ultimately the attendance numbers could be an interesting things to watch, regarding Brooks.

So my tour of all SEC stadiums is a 1/3 of the way through.

4 years running of Vandy, Auburn, Ole Miss and LSU.

Tailgating...Ole Miss and the Grove will be tough to beat. Stadiums...have to go with Death Valley, even though Auburn was pretty sweet.

Next year's choices...South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas(will have to put that one off, and include that near the end with Starkville).

I think the experts picked the Tigers by 26. Those guys are pros and are correct more times than not. How do you explain the rest of the points? Did you really expect a 49-0 shutout (in three quarters if the truth is told). I didn't. I expected UK to play tough for a quarter or two and then get worn down in the end. I thought something like 42-18. The Cats didn't even show up. If you are OK with that, more power to ya.

Mississippi State played LSU 17 points closer than UK did.
