December 12, 20178 yr Currency is all well and good, but I find the evolution of blockchain as the most lucrative investment area. I am at the Day 4 Crypto event in Covington right now. There was just a presentation where a blockchain company is being used by the Republic of Georgia to store land titles bc they have been so easily corrupted by simply changing the paperwork in the physical file. That is the tip of the tip of the tip of the iceberg. Block chain allows for secure storage of sensitive data in a structure that is easy to trace and track. Any military, government, medical, financial data is more secure ina blockchain. The amount of volume out there is mind boggling. That is the future more so than merely the coins. I'm completely with ya. Crypto's are never really going to be used as a currency unless the market slows down and stabilized, which could be 20 years from happening. At the moment it makes no sense to use it to purchase goods only to find out that you overpaid for those goods when the crypto you used to pay for the goods has increased 10-80% overnight. That said, the block chain technology is what is giving the crypto's their value. People say BTC and others are a bubble and while I believe that some certainly are, block chain is here to stay regardless of what happens to BTC and as long as the block chain technology is alive and well there is money to be made off from it.
December 12, 20178 yr Like Amazon, Ebay just announced today that they are contemplating accepting Bitcoin and possibly other cryptocurrencies for payments. Apparently paypals 3% transaction fee would be more expensive than what BTC can offer. Again, I'm not sure the crypto's will ever be used as a currency due to the volatility of the market but anytime someone like Ebay or Amazon contemplates using your brand it's going to be good for the market.
December 12, 20178 yr I just randomly found out that I still have around .11 of Bitcoin left in a wallet that I used to purchase nearly 1.5 Bitcoin three years ago (oh how I wish I had bought more). So that was a nice find.

December 13, 20178 yr Where do you go to purchase this stuff? I haven't been able to figure it out through Fidelity or Charles Schwab.... Buy/Sell Digital Currency - Coinbase is pretty user friendly. Just a warning, it is addictive if you download the app. You will be looking at the prices every time you pick up your phone.
December 13, 20178 yr Where do you go to purchase this stuff? I haven't been able to figure it out through Fidelity or Charles Schwab.... The mainstream brokerages haven't got on board yet. Let Mex said, coinbase is the most user friendly.

December 13, 20178 yr Before you guys do anything, read. Sites like Coin Desk are full of great info. CoinDesk - Leader in blockchain news. Completely agree! The crypto market isn't for everyone, even if they're familiar with investing in other markets. If you can't handle 20% dips in a matter of hours then it's not for you. Anyone getting into crypto's should read up on it and learn all they can about it first. Coindesk, Cointelegraph and cryptocoinsnews are all great places to gather info. I'd also recommend spending some time on coinbase or gdax monitoring the markets for a while before actually buying into anything.
December 13, 20178 yr IOTA is rumored to be working with Microsoft to use IOTAs block chain. It is tough to purchase. I think that is why it is still at about $5/coin An article came out today that clarified that Microsoft is not in a partnership with IOTA, that they are just using the blockchain for transactions that has caused a drop back down to $4 for IOTA. Like you mentioned in the above quote I don't believe IOTA ever claimed that they were partnered with Microsoft, just that Microsoft is using their blockchain, so I'm not really sure why it caused a drop. Personally I'm not so sure it's what really caused the IOTA correction as most of the crypto's are seeing a bit of a correction today. The markets just seem tired to me after the rally at the beginning of the week. Everything will probably settle in for a few days before another rally around the time CME releases their futures.
