Overlooked Coaches

Featured Replies

Clay Clevenger is doing a good job at Lincoln Co. this year. He handels the offense and I think helps out in other areas as well. He shows good coaching and leadership skills, even though this is his 1st year at LC. Congrats to Clay and the team.:thumb:

I agree, he has brought alot to the offense this year, and is using Calhoun and Millers athletic abilities in the right ways.

I think Mark Scenters, assistant coach at Madison Central, would be a good choice for a head coaching job.

Agreed 100%. Great coach and a great guy. He will get his chance very soon somewhere.

:ylsuper: :ylsuper:

Dennis Ledford of Franklin County. Maybe a year or two away but will do a GREAT job for somebody soon!!

Coach Bart Berdar at Mercer Co. would make a QUALITY head coach anywhere.

Not sure he is overlooked, since he was a head coach. But TJ Maynard now at Raceland is very deserving of a head coaching position.

I agree. As is Gary Fannin & Gerad Parker.

Bill Mason is a great guy. He had a lot of trouble getting the kids out to play at NC. Not sure of the reason. Some feel that it had a lot to do with mandatory drug testing etc. Steve Hart at Bethlehem has done a great job creating a football program. With only 267 kids in the school and competing with a top 10 soccer program for athletes he has posted some remarkable records.

I agree 100%, Mercer is blessed to have Bart Bredar as an assistant coach too. He has experience, vast knowledge, relates well with the kids - Bredar is a great coach.

I agree. As is Gary Fannin & Gerad Parker.

:thumb: Maynard, Parker and Fannin are all excellent coaches. I only can hope that Raceland can hang on to G. Parker and he can one day be the Rams head coach whenever Coach Vanderhoof gives it up. This statement is not meant to slight anyone at all. Maynard is a very good coach and has made a huge difference at Raceland, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Gerad Parker has an unbelievable knowledge of the game of football and he is very respected by the players, admin., teachers and the community. Raceland is very blessed with what I think just may be one of the best overall coaching staffs in the state.

:thumb: I think you will see Gerad at Raceland for a very long time and the school & community is very fortunate to have him leading their program. His football knowledge is tremendous and the passion he brings to the game is a big plus as the kids feed of his enthusiasm. He is a young coach & relates to the kids very well.

Dickie Martin at Ashland has been overlooked for a long tome....

Seriously though, Dowdy, Benetine, Love and Heaberlin at Ashland would all be great head coaches. :thumb:

I think Parker will be a good one in due time. Love at Ashland is very deserving.

Todd Walsh- St. X

Mike(?) Wolfe- Ryle

Two good defensive coordinators.

Dave Clark- Bardstown's offensive coordinator.

T.J. Maynard and Gerad Parker of Raceland. Both are former University of Kentucky players who have great knowledge of the game. The players can really relate to both of these guys. Maynard and Parker would both be excellent head coaches at Raceland when Coach Vanderhoof leaves. But dont get me wrong, Raceland loves Coach Hoof! I was just saying that Parker and Maynard as excellent coaches as well.

These two are young guys and still have to put in some time but they will help make someone very successful in the future
