Playoff Player Ejections

Bottom line, it should’ve been a No Call.. I was there... The “White Hat” was shook all night, and this was just one instance. It’s a shame the kid has to sit out the Championship game.. Our kid has to sit out the first game next year..

The thing I am hearing in this thread and from elsewhere, the officials' report is a huge factor in whether a player has a chance at getting a suspension lifted. There are players who did much more serious acts than the Beechwood player who got their suspension lifted. If the Beechwood player stays suspended, the officials' report of the incident will be the reason why, more than what the Beechwood player did.

Who has a suspension lifted?

We had a kid ejected for something we considered to be misinterpreted. Here is the response we got straight from the KHSAA:

Have looked at the play. Can only be appealed in the case of a misapplication (perhaps an ejection of a coach for only one unsportsmanlike foul that isn't flagrant, or a kid for a personal foul that isn't flagrant combined with an unsportsmanlike (the rules require two unsportsmanlike fouls for ejection if one isn't flagrant). The only other way is if the wrong player is identified (usually deals with transposed numbers).

In this case, there is no doubt that the kid ejected is properly identified. Whether or not his act merited ejection is a judgement call, and that of course, cannot be appealed. The blow to the opponent was, in the eyes of the official, judged to be enough to warrant ejection. That judgement call is not subject to appeal per Bylaw 21.

Thank Coach for submitting the video, which may in fact help in future training, etc., but there is no appeal from that one.

The last sentence is all we got when a player got ejected and it was appealed...surprised you got that big of a response. Frustrating to say the least either way.
