November 22, 20178 yr Author I must have missed it. Just go back about 50 weeks and you should find all you need.
November 22, 20178 yr Author At least I'm honest and not afraid to say what I think. :thumb: There's a lot to be said for that. It's a good trait to have.
November 22, 20178 yr Conference championships matter. Agreed should and would matter in a 8 team playoff. Shouldn't matter when a team got curb stomped twice and trying to get the 4 most deserving teams in. Especially when your 2 best wins will be over teams who were ranked high by beating no one. So when you get curb stomped at home already by another team that may be in the playoffs in Oklahoma. Then curb stomped by a team with 4 losses already and possibly more. No way that team should be considered as deserving to be in the final four conference championship or not. You can talk about the rubric all you want. Sometimes their are exceptions that shouldn't follow the rubric. Getting curb stomped twice is and should be one of those exceptions to not put a conference champ in. Last year an exception was made too when head to head and conference champ didn't matter when osu was put in over OSU. Just like this year an exception should be made to put another 2 lost team who may not have won their conference in over a conference champ who got curb stomped twice.
November 22, 20178 yr :idunno: but like I said, who would you put ahead of OSU that is behind OSU? Nobody. That's the answer. I would put USC in over OSU. Usc has a butt kicking on the road against a top 10 team. Not a butt whooping to a team with 4 losses and counting. Then their other loss was to a top 15 on the road too but by only 3 points. So 2 losses on the road one was a curb stomping, the other a close 3 point loss. So yes 2 complete curb stompings osu took one being at home and another to a 4 loss and counting team should have osu behind them and not in front of them. If both USC and osu win their conference. Usc should be in before osu if things play out to where one would make it.

November 23, 20178 yr And they would have beaten nobody ranked inside the top 10. OSU would have 2 such wins. Then you have to decide which is more important a good win or a horrible loss.
November 23, 20178 yr And they would have beaten nobody ranked inside the top 10. OSU would have 2 such wins. Osu 2 wins over two teams who quite possibly may be over ranked. Penn State may have benefited from a weak schedule and lost to the two decent teams they played. Wisconsin literally has played zero. So osu may benefit from beating a team who was only ranked high cause they have played no one. At the end of the day if they truly want to say the regular season is like a playoff in college football. Then that means showing up every single week. Other teams may end up with 2 losses too. But at least in those losses those teams may have actually competeted. Osu might as well not have even shown up they got beat so bad. So if we truly want to say the regular season is meaningful. Then 2 flat out horrible blow out losses should hurt more than a schedule not ending up being as tough as originally thought it would be. So I guess agree to disagree.
November 23, 20178 yr Author Then you have to decide which is more important a good win or a horrible loss. I agree 100%. Obviously I'm going to lean towards the good wins.

Please enlighten me about how Wisconsin and Penn State would be considered over ranked. You're a smart guy and know a lot about football. You honestly think Wisconsin and Penn State aren't top 10 teams or at the bare minimum top 14 teams? Whoever USC plays in the PAC 12 Championship will be the highest ranked team they play all year. If you want to debate good wins vs bad loss fine. That's certainly an argument you can make. But I don't think you can make the argument that OSUs wins would be much more impressive than anything USC would have. I just don't think that's the path you should choose to say that OSU doesn't deserve to get in.
November 23, 20178 yr I agree 100%. Obviously I'm going to lean towards the good wins. If Ohio State beats Michigan which I assume is a foregone conclusion and then beats Wisconsin...I think they will have a very good chance of getting in unless something crazy happens. I don't think they deserve to but I think they will.

The BiG 10 is benefiting from some over inflated rankings. Only 2 really good teams in the conf.....OSU and Wisky.

But I don't think you can make the argument that OSUs wins would be much more impressive than anything USC would have. I just don't think that's the path you should choose to say that OSU doesn't deserve to get in. I have made my point very valid in that osu doesn't deserve to be in because of 2 beat down losses. One of which came to a team who beat down OSU in osu and will also be in the playoff. So we already know osu doesn't deserve to be in with the other 3 best teams just based off that. Then when we throw in the fact that osu then also got beat down by a team with 4 losses already and possibly more before this season is over. That is why they don't deserve to be. That is why it shouldn't matter if they win the big 10. There is a huge problem with the rubric of osu gets in just cause they won the big 10. If two beat down losses doesn't take them out of the conversation, then the rubric needs changed. As for Penn State and Wisconsin who knows how truly good they are. Penn State has beat a bunch of nobody's and lost to the only 2 decent teams they played. Wisconsin literally has beat no one. Michigan was only ranked in the top 25 last week to give them an opportunity to beat a ranked team, just like as you mentioned the committee has done for Clemson with South Carolina. I honestly expect osu to beat Wisconsin by a comfortable amount. Because I believe Wisconsin is where they are at because of their schedule rather than how good they are.

November 23, 20178 yr Author PSU is not a top 10 team....there you have it. The BiG 10 is benefiting from some over inflated rankings. Only 2 really good teams in the conf.....OSU and Wisky. Are they better than Washington State? Because that's probably going to be USC's best win.

You keep saying Wisconsin and Penn State havent beaten anyone and they haven't. Just answer my question: Are Wisconsin and Penn State better than Washington State? I don't want a super long post explaining your answer. Just a simple yes or no. If so, literally the only argument you could have would be that the Iowa loss is just too bad to overcome despite their good wins.
