I do. Look at how Penn State has faired on the road this year. Last second score to beat Iowa. Losses at OSU and at Michigan State. Win over Northwestern.

Penn State would be around a 10 point favorite on the road against both of those teams. You know I like Stanford too. But I'm not looking at resumes when I know for a fact one team is better.

The only way to know for certain that one team is better than another is for them to play.

So give Bama a bye and have Oklahoma and Miami play because no other team will deserve it.

No matter how the rest of this season plays out, that game will be stuck in the minds of OSU fans forever. I really have no idea what happened. I don't have any excuses or any explanations. It's as true of a statistical anomaly as I've ever seen.

No...was trying to be sarcastic. Everybody wants to point to a team and who they lost to...was just trying to point out how absurd it could be.

 

And FYI, this is the reason why I don't think 4 teams is anywhere close to being what it should be. Plus, we're trying to pick the four teams with still 3 games left. Three!

The 90's were one giant question mark with regards to OSU. The what ifs that still ring through from the Cooper years, mainly about all of the devastating losses to Michigan when OSU was the superior team, are still tough pills to swallow. But if OSU gets left out this year I can't even begin to describe how I'll feel about that game in Iowa City. That loss was as unexpected as the loss to Urban Meyer and Florida in 2007. I'm still recovering from it. This seemingly meaningless game in Iowa is going to be right up near the top of hard to swallow OSU losses.

I do think it's ironic though all of these OSU haters who have been clamoring for 8 teams, will be saying 4 teams is too much when OSU gets in. :idunno:

If it was 8 teams I would have zero problem with osu making it for winning their conference. With it being 4 teams I do have a problem if osu makes it over a few other 2 loss teams. Yes other teams have had losses to bad teams. But none of them took a complete beat down to a 4 loss team. If we want to say the regular season means something. Then no way imo can people say a team who took two beat downs is one of the top 4 teams who deserves it. No matter who the 4th team is they wouldn't have completely earned it either. But even then they wouldn't have 2 blow out losses on their resume. If we want the 4 best teams, and we want to say the regular season means something. Then osu shouldn't even sniff the playoffs. They would have had 2 games where not only did they lose, they just didn't even show up.

That's fine and dandy. Call the committee what you want, but if Alabama, Miami, and Ohio State take care of business those other 2 loss teams would also be as undeserving as Ohio State and the only one who would have a conference champion next to their name and that would be USC who wouldn't have a top 10 win on their resume. Speaking of USC today I heard a pretty convincing argument today regarding them. Why are they ahead of Washington State? I like USC a lot I think they are playing well and getting better as the season goes on after taking tough losses early on. Very similar to last year. But let's say Oklahoma and Ohio State had the same number of losses would you people be ok with OSU being ahead of OU? Of course not. Even if people thought OSU was better.

For some reason I was listening to the Cowherd show today. No idea why. But he had on Rob Bell who I guess is a Vegas oddsmaker. According to him the 4 best teams in the country with regards to who would be favored on a neutral site are in this order:

1. Alabama

2. Oklahoma

3. Ohio State

4. Auburn
