October 8, 200620 yr I'd be curious to know how long it had been since both Florida State and Miami were unranked? One would think it would stretch back to the 80's. Also, I don't think Georgia dropped nearly far enough for as bad as they lost. Yeah, it was a highly ranked team in UT, but it was at home and they got worked.

The last time the Hurricanes were unranked was 1999. Im not sure when both were unranked @ the same time.

October 8, 200620 yr Found the answer: The last time Florida State and Miami (FL) were both unranked in the AP Poll was Week 14 of the 1982 season, the week of December 6th. It was so long ago that it was the top 20, not the top 25, which is likely the only reason FSU was unranked. They were ranked in week 13 and the final poll (week 15). 24 years, and here they are, at a low point for each program.
October 8, 200620 yr How can WVU who blew out MSU, while not a very good team, fall in the polls while USC who narrowly escaped against a bad Washington team at home stay at #3. IMO WVU should have moved up to #2 with Florida at #3 and USC falling to #4. I just wonder if WVU will get any respect from the AP if it goes into Louisville and pulls out the win.

This is JMO but I really believe that the BCS will do everything in it's power to pit Ohio State and USC in a national title game if the situation comes even close to presenting itself.

WV has only played patsies. Their opp. combined record is 8-19. Three of those teams have only won 1 game. And in their first 4 games WV never got a sack. They are also ranked 34th in total defense. Very lame defensive stats against such inferior competition. Their offense is hot but defense wins championships

Washington is hardly a "bad" team. They played really well yesterday against Southern California, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Huskies finish somewhere near 8-4. West Virginia and Louisville are both suffering from weak schedules and a lack of conference wins, therefore slowing their progress up the polls.
October 9, 200620 yr WVU has not really been impressive, IMO....USC has been worse. My top 5 right now... OSU Florida Michigan WVU USC
