Who wins this matchup? Can Ludlow rebound after a loss last week? Will Louisville Holy Cross come into Ludlow and steal one?

This should be a fun matchup to see.

Holy Cross will be to physical and wear Ludlow down over the course of the game.

Unfortunately for Ludlow I think Holy Cross plays good enough defense to slow down Blackburn and Holy Cross will win this game.

I hope I am wrong because I’d love to see a Ludlow vs KCD shootout the next round!!!!

I think you are on target saying Holy Cross defense will get them the win but the score will be higher. I am going with Holy Cross 35 Ludlow 20.

What kind of team is Holy Cross this year. Obviously they are usually a solid program but I don't know much about them this year. Sounds like they have a good defense. What kind of offense do they run? Are they a physical team? Lots of speed? Both?

From what I have gathered from past games following on here they seem like a defensive minded team that is a tough physical running team on offense. I have not seen them personally yet but I have followed a bunch of their games on BGP as I do anyone the Beechwood could face in future rounds of the playoffs.

I like that matchup for Ludlow then. Ludlow imo matches up better with physical teams rather than teams who will spread them out with a lot of speed. Blackburn has speed but also is very physical. Two years ago they lost a home game in the playoffs as a two seed against Kentucky Country Day I believe. I just don't see Blackburn as a senior now letting his team lose at home in the playoffs his senior year.

I hope you are right I always root for Northern Ky teams when it comes to playoff time except when they play Beechwood!!!!

Holy Cross usually has good size, good defense and play old school type football. They have their own superstar in RB/LB Mario Convenuto. He is a lot like Blackburn. A three year starter; plays both sides of the ball well; hard nosed kid and a good RB. I think he is over 1,000 yards rushing on the year. They are capable of throwing the ball if their QB is healthy, but they want to run it at you.

The biggest thing Ludlow fans should be concerned about is that Paris score. Paris probably has more speed than Ludlow and Holy Cross still handled them.

This game is too close to call. It is one of those games where whoever wins the turnover battle will probably win the game.

Ludlow is one of my favorite places to watch a game. The hall of fame they have is neat to walk through if you get a chance. I'm taking the hosts. 14-7 in a slug fest.

As much as I would like to see the Panthers win this game it is going to take their best plus a little fortunate bounce of the ball. Holy Cross has played a superior schedule and if that prepares you for the playoff, they should be ready. Blackburn has proven to be the difference maker multiple times and I will hope that happens against this tough opponent.
