Russell vs. Estill County predictions

You are 100% right it should but the way it has been done I don't see how you could possibly tell anything about any of these players 1 or 2 plays a game for each of them even the frosh. One game they were running into each other .Run in-down set -run out ------what is that? Come on guys these players deserve better don't you think? With a little thought a REAL look could be given to some of the back up players. Not giving them a real opportunity could be bad especially if they are needed when you have injury's etc. These players work just as hard and in some cases harder than the chosen few.

I don't know that I agree with what you are saying. Anytime you have back up players in even in the NFL things are just not the same. I have seen Russells #2 team have some very good scoring drives in several of the games this season. The defense has also played fairly well. We currently have 5 or 6 kids that we backups at the begining of the season now starting due to injuries. Go Red devils.

Who is injured for Russell and how long?

Jacob Sizemore, Nick Lewis,John Cornwell. Cornwell is done for the year.Sizemore and Lewis may come back in the playoffs.

Will this weak schedule hurt Russell in the playoffs? Mercer County and Western seem to play a far superior schedule. I realize that you play your district foes but that still doesn't change the fact that Russell has been playing the "Patsy of the Week" for a while.

The offense is actually a double wing, somewhat different from the single wing.

Actually my son has told me from watching on film that they run a spread offense. That it is alot like the Tony Franklin offense. Well they run the offense but they have thrown in a few of their own plays. Although they have been known to go back to their own offense, you know the one with the fullback pass. At least thats what they did against Morgan.

The coaches are not relying on a player's brief appearance in a game to make a decison about where they fall on the depth chart. Much of that decision is based on a player's performance on the practice field during the week prior to the game. Remember, these kids start playing in July. The coaches have seen them play for months now and they pretty much know each player's strengths and weaknesses. It's hard if you are a player or the parent of a player that does not get much playing time during the game. That's what is so great about the game, it provides life lessons for each and every player. Rules dictate that only eleven kids can be on the field at one time. With a team the size of Russell, you are obviously going to have alot of players who's role is not as a headliner on Friday nites, but instead their role is to help prepare the headliners for their performance on Friday nite. It's always great to see all the kids get into the game, that usually means were winning handily. I think Ivan does as good a job with subbing as any coach out there.

You Estill fans that will be making the trip to Henry R Evans Stadium might want to Dress Warm and bring a pad or a blankit or somthing to put on those metal bleachers. The high is only suposed to be 47. Dont forget if you get hungry stop in at My dads Pizza for their buffet.

I suppose it depends on what you are trying to accomplish . I am not knocking anyone I think they are the best and run a great football program I just feel that a little more thought could go into it .They will walk all over this team 56-0

Of course it hurts. How can you get ready for the playoffs when you have blowouts each week? It is what it is. Russell can do nothing about it.

Not so fast. I'm not so sure Russell will dominate to that point. Yes I feel they will win but I still think the defense is improving but they are still suspect. The O-Line has made progress also but they are not what they were last year.

I realize that Russell is the defending state champions, and that they are extremely strong this year, but a team with confidence (Estill) can be dangerous. I'm not predicting an upset, or even saying that Russell won't win big, but the final score might not be 56-0 like some folks might think.

Estill got beat 26-0 by the same Lewis County team we just beat 56-0. I would say that there is a good chance it could be a 56-0 game. But thats why we play the game. I know they are defently not over looking Estill after what happend a couple years ago.:thumb:

Kind of a trap game. Estill is coming off a big win over Morgan Co while Russell has just been cruising. I don't think Estill will win but I hope Russell comes out sharp from the very start. No time to relax the playoffs are coming.

Most ridiculous post you have ever made FBALL.

Lewis beat Estill 26-0.
