I hope Russell can make it to the state title game again. And I think I speak for most fans, not just Russell's. I don't care who it is against. Mercer Co has painted themselves in this us against the world situation and most people to be honest are just sick of hearing it.

Nobody hates them. Everybody doesn't dream of playing them.

The timing of the whole thing, like it or not, gives the merger the appearance it was done for all the wrong reasons. Whether that is fact or fiction I will leave that to the powers that be at Merger Co to live with.

I'm not painting nothin. Just talkin football. Why cant we do that? I'm not talkin trash. I'm just getting my $15 worh on BGP. The fact is that all those rumors started on BGP, people like you is the reason that it has this appearance. Once again I was talking football period. Not we did this we did that. I dont care what anybody else thinks I just want the Titans to do the best they can and if they come up short, I dont care what anybody else posts or thinks. So all this talk about Mercer this year and them getting all the hype and all the bad feelings by people thinking they are trying to get one over on AA wont give Russell or anybody else extra motivation to want to play them and make a point? No need to answer that cause I already know. I would. I'm sick and tired of this. Whoever we meet whether its the mountain teams or whoever I believe I can speak for the team cause I know they read this site too.......BRING IT!!!!!!Tell em all the Titans are coming! This is the last year in AA and I would rather face the fury of 5A then to keep on hearing all this whining and stuff. In the end thats all it is. Play ball! I'm just glad to be living in Titan Town.

I think everyone knows about the numbers advantage they have. It has been posted on here since the summer ad nauseum. We get it!!! But there is also some disinformation out there as well. I have seen posters state that they would be a big 4A school this year which is not accurate. They would be 3A simply based on the numbers. They have more kids in their school than the other 2A teams and numerous posters have made this perfectly clear. However, you are comparing Mercer to Trinity? That is a HUGE compliment considering that they were a 2A school who merged with a 1A school (who had 3 wins over teams who were a combined 3-12 in district play last season) and are playing 1 season in 2A (their enrollment would make them a 3A school not a 4A, and nowhere near the number of male students nor to the have the tradition of a powerhouse like Trinity). It wasn't like they merged with Danville, a powerhouse 1A team was it?

They simply posted a fact. They did what they were supposed to do in this one, ... win big just as they did last season with a first year coach before the merger. I am not a Mercer supporter, but I do know that I saw a great deal of class from Coach Jaggers in their wins and think he is building a solid program at Mercer. Call them what you will, but they have a very solid team and IMHO, if they were classified in 3A this season, they would still be having an excellent season. Before Jaggers came on board, Mercer was having trouble winning any playoff games. Starting last season BEFORE the merger, there was a lot of excitement in Mercer for the direction their program was heading. Let them enjoy their success. Trinity and X have had a HUGE numbers advantage for years, but I would never discount their accomplishments as they have built their tradition on the back of hard work, solid players and excellent coaching. Same at Mercer, and while I like the direction Jaggers has them going, don't compare them to Trinity just yet.

First of all take a deep breath. 2nd, when you say "I know everybody wants a shot at Mercer" you are wrong and it comes off as arrogant. As I said, I could care less about Mercer. If we play them, fine. If we don't, That's fine too. 3rd, "BRING IT!!!!!Tell em all the Titans are coming". Sounds like a cheerleader movie. This is the us against the world attitude that has gotten on alot of peoples nerves. Noone is scared of Mercer Co. If you are tired of all of the talk I would blame your school board for at the very least having really bad judgement on when to decide to merge schools.

I wish all the big schools would quit picken on North Oldham!

The starters where out of the game with 11 min to go in the 3rd

Kick them when they are down- the kids and coaches at North Oldham will have the last laugh one day.. just give them time. There has been stability issues, and lack of participation. A new field, additions to the school, and more than 2 seniors will help

Mercer County hasn't accomplished anything yet except beating a bunch of average and below average teams. I am all for enthusiastic fans, but be a little more realistic before telling anyone to "Bring it on." Statements like that are why most people on here, even neutral observers, want to see Mercer Co. beat.

Mercer County's opponents have a combined record of 19-32. Only two of the seven teams have winning records.

Lexington Christian (6-2)

South Laurel (3-5)

Garrard County (2-5)

Boyle County (2-5)

Casey County (2-5)

Newport (4-3)

North Oldham (0-7)

Which explains the scores they have put up.

Playoffs are coming. Let's see what happens.

Like I said before, I wasnt trying to say we have done this or that. I was merely wondering what would be the most interesting matchup in the finals if it played out. You rattled my cage and I have a temper. So I will leave it at that.

Where in the world is all of this whining and pouting during other major sports seasons where there are NO class divisions? For pete's sake people, get real. You don't think big schools have an advantage over small schools in baseball and basketball! It seems the all mighty football divisions have a magical way of separating "good" teams from "bad" teams. Sometimes, it just might be a talent situation, a coaching situation, a recruiting situation (if you are talking about private schools), or just plain luck. I don't have a dog in this fight, but my goodness, let 22 kids play on the field at a time, and may the best team win.

You make a good point Rick. But, I get tired of all the bashers. When everytime you try to talk about a topic and someone always starts taking jabs at you then you finally get agititated and you look for things to post they wont like to hear. It happens at every level of sports on message boards. My posts werent like this early in the season. And my posts very seldom are.

If you have some examples of a "recruiting situation if you are talking about private schools)" , by all means please report it to the KHSAA. Otherwise I suggest you keep your opinion to yourself. In fact its a rule around here.

Sounds very similiar to Lincoln County's schedule. What's their opponents won/loss record. If anybody out there thinks Boyle County can't play just play them.Four of their 5 losses are to teams that are still undefeated.

You always make it personal by dragging in my team. I merely responded to the Poster who questioned Mercer County's schedule by posting the cold, hard facts about the schedule. Not that it has anything to do with this, but Lincoln County's opponents are 24-27 (.470), while Mercer's opponents are 19-32 (.372). LC's opponents have 5 more wins out of 51 games than do Mercer's. Similar, yes. Same, no.

Lincoln's non-district schedule (neither team can do anything about its district opponents since they must play them) inlcudes Pleasure Ridge Park (5-2), Garrard County (2-5 but a natural, local rival) and Rockcastle County (6-1). I will agree that McCreary Central is a non-competitive opponent in light of Lincoln County's turnaround (and was even when LC was down).

Mercer's non-district schedule includes Lexington Christian Academy (6-2), South Laurel (3-5), Garrard County (2-5), Boyle County (2-5) and Casey County (2-5). Mercer has played one non-district opponent with a winning record (LCA) but if you look closer, LCA's 6-2 record has been posted against teams that are a combined 18-31. Admittedly, Boyle County has played a lethal schedule and was competitive to the end in all but two games; nonetheless, don't hurt yourself thumping your chest too hard over that victory. This is not the same Boyle County team that won 5 straight titles and their supporters will be the first to say so.

While I think Lincoln County would beat any of the five non-district opponents on Mercer County's schedule (yes, including Boyle County), I am not sure that the Titans would be able to do the same against PRP or Rockcaslte County.

We both know that Mercer County will not be tested before the Regional Championship. We will see what happens after that.

By the way, before I am painted as Mercer hater, nothing could be further form the truth. For Head Coach Marty Jaggers and Superintendent Bruce Johnson, I hope the Titans win a state title. I really like both of those guys and they deserve all the good that comes their way.
