Could be because Soccer is a much longer game than basketball with much less stoppage to catch your breath. Saying just keep playing isn’t the answer for a game that is, at the high school level, an 80 minute contest with much more running.

Play a 5 minute OT, take a player off each side, play another 5 minute OT, take another player off the field...etc

Sooner or later someone will score. Much better than PK's.

I think you might be onto something.

I know this game has been over and isn't relevant at this point but was there a red card for a player who cussed the ref?

For which team? Was it a player or a coach?

I am not trying to stir anything up but I heard over the weekend that it was a player from HHS. I have no idea who the player was and again I just heard this.

Would not surprise me in the least. Many issues surrounding the program this year and this would just be another one to add.

However, with that said, I never heard anyone say that Highlands played a man down at any point in regulation or overtime.

I am not 100% sure was just asking because its something I heard and was asking to see if it was true or not.

FAKE NEWS :)

There were no red cards. I don't recall any yellows either.

I also don't recall anything that looked like a ref getting on a player outside the ordinary stuff. Had a player cussed the ref, can't imagine them not pulling the card.

Thanks, again I wasn't sure was just asking if anyone knew of it. Sounds like a clean game for the most part.

The KHSAA DQ list had 2 Highlands coaches getting red cards at the game.

Now that right there is rather interesting

Did they put that back up. Thought it got taken down.

That didn't happen at the game I was at.

If it had it would without a doubt have been brought up in this thread much earlier than now.

Sorry to say that it did happen after the game was over and before the officials left the facility. Red cards were given to two coaches. If memory serves me correctly, that results in a 3 game suspension for both at the start of next year, assuming ........

Then I'll restate to say that it didn't happen IN the game I was at.

Didn't pay much attention once it ended.
