Boyle Co. 57 Pulaski Co. 0

The meeting had nothing to do with the win that's true. And I'm sure all the concerned fans (like myself) aren't at ease at all. I'm still very concerned and only more games (playoff games) and time with ease my concern.

So your main concern is all about the wins and losses??... not who plays... underclassmen/upperclassmen...

I know that the vicotries have been few and far between for the Rebels this year but why why why why why do you go for a fake punt when you're up 36-0 in the second quarter?

Now before anyone fires back at me, I've not said anything about running the score up. I just think it's weird to have a designed fake punt when you're up on a team by that score....the worst part of it was that Boyle County scored on the play as well.

Up 5 TDs and run a fake punt, why? Is this going to help the morale of the team, kicking another team while they are already down? I just dont get it sorry, Boyle has been known to do things like this before. Just my 2 cents worth.

I respect your posts statman but to be honest I would ask the same of why Larkey kept going for 2 when the issue was settled with Harrison County? (Again I'm not saying Rock was running up the score.)

A few years ago Boyle took a lot of heat for an onside kick in a blowout over Lincoln. That same year they ran it against Hoptown in the semi-finals when they were clinging to a 7 point lead. It worked and the Rebels all but ran out the clock. That game "practice" (IMHO) was a way to get ready to execute when it was needed the most. The took a lot of heat but it worked for their first AAA title! :thumb:

I dont think that Lincoln team was the only one to get the onside kick treatment from a Boyle Co. "power team", I didnt buy the "pratice line" then and I dont buy it now.

They do need to practice it in game situations but the also a reason is so that they can get to that magical 45 point margin at half, so there is a running clock second half. You will be hard pressed to find many starters in after the 45 point margin is reached (maybe 1st series of 2nd half).

:walk: Way to go Rebels. Amazing what a little discipline can do for those talented young men. Great job coaches for sticking with your plan despite the negative comments you faced and great job players for stepping up to the plate!

And it's amazing what a little discussion amongs themselves will do to help a bunch of kids. Perhaps they needed to know that "they" the players are in this together. Sometimes everyone has to give a little bit on both sides.....after all it's in the best interest of all involved to show a little bit more respect both ways.:thumb:

Pulaski had just called a timeout when Boyle was going to Punt the football, if they don't call a timeout Boyle more than likely doesn't run the fake. Any football team, at any level coming out of a timeout for a special team not expecting a fake or a hard count deserves to either be scored on or jump offsides IMO. The difference. Three weeks ago, Boyle ran the same play and the runner was tackle by a safety/returner, this week, the player ran over three players determinded to get in the endzone. Coincedence it was the same play, I think not. I think the upperclassmen realized it might mean a little more to them than just to go out and play. They played with a purpose this week. Players(that should be leaders) made PLAYs instead of just being on the field b/c they were upperclassmen, and that is what makes a difference. Good job coaches sticking to your guns and getting everyone on board. Great job to the O-line which dominated and the Defense, it doesn't matter who you are playing a goose egg is still a goose egg! And that is something to be very proud of! Good luck rebs with Marion County this week.

And hit stick you are right, I'm sure they were trying to get to 45 and shorten the game for the young bucks.

It seems to me that it would be better to keep the scoring margin under 45 points so that the subs could get more actual playing time.

Way to go Rebels, that should quiten things down for at least a couple of days.

Good Post, I like it...

 Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over it. We may need that play later this season, when the game is on the line. What better time to see if you can execute it......

Quit hiding behind veiled excuses like this. The team was upset that they lost a district game and took it out on the next squad they played. The sole intention was to run it up and send a message to the rest of the district that they would not tolerate losing to them. Afterall this is BOYLE! Losing in this district is not an option!:fire:
