In the AP Poll the Beechies aren't even ranked #1.. I would think they would be the most unanimous #1 pick in any class besides maybe 6A..

Obviously you have to play the games. I was pointing out the Beechies have been heavy favorites all year. Don't think a win over Ludlow serves notice to the rest of Class A in any way.

What "stepping on their own toes" did they do? All I saw was a Good Team that wasn't used to playing a team with 11 tremendous athletes on both sides of the ball. Beechwood's entire line backing crew is faster than all but 1 player on Ludlow's offense. They are small, but hit extremely hard. That's hard to play against. The second half was a bit different, with some penalties balls being snapped over QBs head, but it had been a long night.

 

I haven't seen all games, but this is the most I have been impressed by Beechwood since Corbin game. They were 99.9% sharp. There were 4 and 5 guys flying to the ball the entire game. Ludlow had less than 40 yards in the first half. That's on the Beechwood D, not the Ludlow Offense.

 

I am a 25 year BW fan and supporter so I think I can be realistic in saying I love this Tiger team. It takes nothing away from their effort by acknowledging an avalanche happened in the first half that was a combination of their efforts and Panthers stepping on own toes. Example...after BW scores on first possession, Panthers fumbles the ball away on their first play giving BW short field for 2 play touchdown. Next series Ludlow goes three and out and then shanks a 7 yard punt giving BW another short field TD. Next possession wide open Panther drops pass that would have been a 20 yard gain and their only first half first down not by penalty. Reasonable punt follows and BW scores again quickly. Next possession coverage team allows Castleman to split two defenders and take the ball to the house. Ludlow is better than this, but there should be no doubt the superior team won by a huge margin.

That’s not what I’m saying. Im saying that Beechwood should be the biggest favorite out of every class to win their class state championship. CovCath still has Bowling Green to deal with..
