October 4, 200619 yr In the AL, yes. In the NL, no... Maybe so, but that is part of the Reds problems.....They use other teams #2 or #3 guys as their #1 or #2. In the long run that is going to catch up with a team, which is exactly what happened this season.

October 4, 200619 yr Not really.....Bronson was not going to be in the Red Sox rotation at the start of the year.....By mid-season he would have been their #3, which is what Bronson really is.Are you saying that the Red Sox had five starters better than Arroyo? No way ... The Reds stole Arroyo for a fourth outfielder ... no one can expect every team to make an offer for Dunn based on those established values.
October 4, 200619 yr The Reds stole Arroyo for a fourth outfielder ... no one can't expect every team to make an offer for Dunn based on those established values. That why I think if he's traded, there are only a few teams in the mix. Teams with an overflow of talented young arms, and a lack of offense would be my target. Too bad they are few and far between...
October 4, 200619 yr I would trade Dunn for Pujols, Morneau, Mauer, Dontrelle Willis, Brandon Webb, Jeter, A-Rod, Ryan Howard, Andrew Jones, probably some others I'm forgetting...
October 4, 200619 yr In the Reds' shoes, I would try to trade Dunn for a young shortstop and a good pitching prospect ... the problem is finding a team that can make it fit.

October 4, 200619 yr Maybe, but I'd be tempted to leave him at 2B ... we know his defense is good there, and I suspect there is a reason that Cleveland apparently preferred him at 2B.

The Reds stole Arroyo for a fourth outfielder ... no one can expect every team to make an offer for Dunn based on those established values. At the beginning of the year Boston had Arroyo as the odd man out of the roatation.....Now had they known the injury problems the likes of Wells, Clement, and Co. would have, they wouldn't have pulled the trigger for Pena. The only teams I see possibly making a serious run at Dunn are Detroit and Oakland. Zito and Harden are untouchable for the A's as are Bonderman and Verlander for the Tigers IMO. The rest of the guys on those rotations don't impress me much.....I wish they would trade him, but I just don't see Dunn going anywhere.

They needed offensive production, and he stunk. Plus they wanted to get him up, and Vizquel wasn't moving. I wouldn't mind him at 2B, just starting what I've heard up here...
October 4, 200619 yr Would you trade Dunn for Brad Lidge and Jason Lane? That rumor is picking up steam -- are the majority of you guys for that deal? I might take Backe and Lane...

October 4, 200619 yr I might take Backe and Lane...Isn't Backe supposed to undergo surgery? Even if he's healthy, I wouldn't do it for that. Lane isn't very valuable.
