I haven't seen Lincoln play, but at this point in the season, I have them ahead of Boyle by a hair. I do believe that Boyle could beat any of those teams I have ranked ahead of them and if there is one game that Coach Stoney would win out of these 6 teams, I have to say that he would win vs. Casey County. We shall see soon.

We are used to seeing Boyle succeed and Lincoln being not so successful. I know Boyle is down this year and their schedule shows. Lincoln is much improved and I see French getting area coach of the year in that area.

I also have to mention that Danville plays a tough non-district schedule.

SWP

Pulaski

Boyle

Somerset

N. Oldham

Hazard

I know Lincoln is in a competitive district as well and handed a good Rockcastle a Loss on the season.

Mercer is having a great season as well - they should with a great coaching staff and alot of combined big men/athletes on a team.

Boyle has played the hardest area non-district schedule and maybe in the state, but they are not typical Boyle and I have to give Lincoln the edge.

We all need to be thankful the great football we have in this area.:dancingpa

Has any team in the state played a tougher schedule than Boyle County? 4 of the 6 teams are undefeated.

W Harrison County (3-3)

L Henry Clay (7-0)

L Danville (7-0)

L Lafayette (7-0)

L Mercer County (6-0)

L Southwestern (3-3)

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Southwestern almost beat Danville in a pre-season scrimmage, and Mercer lost by 1 to Danville (Titans with possession) because of 3 hour rule. Boyle's definatly played there fair share of tough teams. But then again, maybe Danville and Mercer have too, and maybe they're are just too powerfull for anyone to handle. A little something to think about I suppose.:p

Danville beat Southwestern in the first game of the year by a count of 33-30 (?). Actually, if you scroll up the thread Mr. Network laid out the teams each had played and their records. It was:

Opponents' Combined Winning Percentage

1. Boyle County 33-6 (.846)

2. Casey County 27-12 (.692)

3. Garrard County 29-14 (.674)

4. Lincoln County 18-22 (.450)

5. Mercer County 15-24 (.384)

6. Danville 14-29 (.325)

(As posted by Mr. Network)

So I guess that Danville and Mercer's schedule doesn't quite stack up to Boyle's this year but then again Mercer and Danville suffer for having a 1-5 Boyle team on their schedule.

How would Lincoln fair this year against the other area schools? Next year they will be in the same district as Mercer and I would like to see them get Boyle back on there schedule, I dont see Danville playing Lincoln for awhile after the forfeit a couple years ago.

They beat Garrard 41-0 a few weeks ago. I would expect a similar score against Casey County. If they played Danville, Boyle and Mercer, the games could go either way, IMHO.

I just hate seeing Danville or Boyle not on the schedule for Lincoln, those games meant alot to both communities since there are so many family and friend ties to all.

It's going to be wild to see French (former Mercer coach) and Jaggers (former Lincoln coach) go at it.

Go back to the way it used to be, correct me if i'm wrong but didn't the district consist of Boyle, Danville, Garrard, Lincoln, Mercer, and Casey?

Never thought about that. That's a pretty neat little point titan.

No because Lincoln has always been AAA until the last couple of years. EVen when Danville was AAA they were in a different district with Woodford County, Madison Central, Franklin County and some others.

I think Boyle, Danville, Garrard and Mercer used to all be in a AA district together in the late 80's.

Never, ever in football. Not even in basketball.

Hatz, Lincoln County was in Danville's sub-district when the Admirals were "playing-up" in AAA when they won the title in 1984. The teams in the sub-district were Danville, Estill County, Jessamine County and Lincoln County.

LC was in Mercer's sub-district in the early 80's and were in Boyle's district recently when the Rebels moved up to AAA and before Lincoln was moved up to AAAA, but they have never been in the same district at the same time with all three and have never been in the same classification as Garrard County or Casey County.

Ok, so was it Danville, Boyle, Mercer, Casey in the same district for a while while the Ads were playing on the AA level in the mid-late 90's?

Jaggers and French coached against each other in the 1993 AAA playoffs when Jaggers was at Lincoln and French was at Meade County. Jaggers' Patriots beat French's Meade County 28-0.
