Hatz, Lincoln County was in Danville's sub-district when the Admirals were "playing-up" in AAA when they won the title in 1984. The teams in the sub-district were Danville, Estill County, Jessamine County and Lincoln County.

 

LC was in Mercer's sub-district in the early 80's and were in Boyle's district recently when the Rebels moved up to AAA and before Lincoln was moved up to AAAA, but they have never been in the same district at the same time with all three and have never been in the same classification as Garrard County or Casey County.

I think that is correct. If memory serves (and it doesn't always ) I recall them being in the same district in '88 and '89 for certain. Maybe the year before as well.

I still believe Mercer is a great team that should and more than liekly will win the State Championship. I would love to see them match up with Danville it would be a great test for both teams. Right now though Merecer is the best team in Danville.

I remember during my playing days (Pre Reagan) that they had great battles with Woodford County every year for the District title. I remember Duffy's first year (1980) their team lost by inches in OT to Woodford and finished so strong that they were ranked by AP in the top 5 AAA even thought they didn't make the playoffs.

I've noticed that athletes from Boyle have come to Danville, and Danville to Lincoln. There was one named Chase (?) forgot his last name that went to Lincoln from Danville, he was at the quarterback position last year I believe, any status on how he is doing, or if he is just playing basketball?

This is the second year for Chase Overstreet at LC, He has been at Garrard then to Danville and on to LC. He has never played football at LC only basketball.

Oh okay, yea Overstreet. I had always heard rumors of him playing football at Lincoln, he was a big assest when was at Danville. But I wasn't sure if he was playing or not. Thanks budd:thumb:

Lincoln has a nice team but i don't see yhem playing with the big 3.
