While the line is a concern. Dalton has a 9.5 qbr after the first 2 games. That is 2nd worst in the last 10 years. There has been a lot of bad lines, and bad qbs during that time. Guys who also don't have people like Green or Eifert to throw to, and Dalton has been worst then them.

 

The Bengals have multiple problems on offense. However Dalton is just adding to it with bad qb play. When he has time he is making bad decisions and bad throws. A qb should be able to help flawed areas not add to it. As bad as they have been. If Dalton does good on the plays they have time they are at worst 1 and 1 right now.

Well I have never said he is a stud or even elite. he has been an average to better than average QB. With both Hue and Jay not going after McCarron really says all I need to know.

The bottom line is that the Bengals didn't draft wisely. They should have went after linemen with the higher draft picks. That may have not made things significantly better this season but it would have been a start.

 

I'm in total agreement that Dalton hasn't looked good and that he's been slightly above average at times. However, I do believe that the offensive line has been the highest priority and it was avoided like the plague during the offseason and it's showing loudly and clearly.

Not really considering McCarron never played for Jay Gruden, and that Jay has a qb who does good for him. Now for Hue I would bet you he and Marvin since they are close had a conversation. However since he knows Marvin and Mike Brown so well that he knew they would have to give up a 1st round pick for him, and the Browns want to gather up picks not lose them.

 

It's not like Hue was going to come out and say hey yeah we tried to get him. However to think that the conversation probably didn't take place between him and Marvin is silly. Marvin probably even told him when he left no way are we going to do anything to help them out. With the Bengals thinking so highly of McCarron the chances of them even considering trading him to a division rival and possibly helping them end their qb problems was slim to none. So no one has any idea if Hue talked to them or not.

Here is my peoblem with this. This was a weak draft for offensive lineman anyways. So you don't draft lineman just to draft them. Shoot the guys people are unhappy with in Ced and Fisher were 1st and 2nd round picks. Ced was considered a top 10 pick if he never hurt his knee. So no one knows for sure if drafting lineman could have helped or not. With it being a weak draft for lineman. I would rather them take best players available like they did. Next year now their is hopefully better lineman and they could truly focus on that. Both Ced and Fisher deserved one more year to see if they improved.

 

I will say the only spot they may have messed up on was taking Ross. They could have took OJ Howard and did more 2 TE sets which in turn would have helped the lineman.

Watching the Packers getting crushed thus far, doesn't bode well for next week. I really did not think we had much of a chance anyway, but if this continues, it could be ugly next week. However, Rodgers has no time to throw and teh Falcons defense is not as good as the Bengals.

 

This game isn't over. The Packers can always come back.

I see Eifert ruled out for the game. That dude can not stay healthy.
