They don't, and if they did they would be amazed to learn that she cared for soldiers on both sides .

I wonder if these schools will omit slavery and the U.S. Civil War out of history classes? Probably just best to not talk about such things anymore. That way, you know, it never happened and we, as a people, may repeat those things in peace.

It is a sad commentary.
