No. 5 for Mayfield seems LOW.

Mayfield does look out of place with the number 5 next to their name, but the teams ahead of them all had impressive debuts last week. Hard to justify moving them up, especially after just one game.

I would rearrange the top 5.

 

1. Christian Academy-Louisville

#5 is okay for now.. The only team I may have an issue being behind would be LCA.. Not sure what they've done to justify a #3 ranking, but, they're a solid team, so, so be it.. As the season wears on and teams start taking there hits, the picture will become clearer and if all continue to win, then it'll get decided in the playoffs, like it should.. I'd probably have Leslie Co in at 10 right now, instead of Somerset, but, it's splitting apples, overall, looks good..

I'd have to keep Somerset in at 10. Leslie will still have a ways to go. If they beat Whitley County then they may get some attention.

MF appears to have answered the main question mark of QB play. They are likely better than #5 if what we saw from the QB play was no fluke

CAL should be #1 untill someone beats them.

Just a quick stat of note: after the Union City game, Mayfield went up 795 spots on MaxPreps national rankings.
