If I was picking one player to build my team around I would not pick KyKy Tandy, I believe he doesn't give as much effort as the players I listed above defensively and although he may be the most talented of the group he just wouldn't be my first choice. I think KyKy is a great player and if I made a list specifically of the ten most talented then he would be on it. Also Donatie Allen was close to making my top 10.

 

I see where you stated "build my team around" earlier. I didn't see that at first glance. I was thinking more along the lines of what the thread was started for "top 10 players in the state".

Top 10 players can mean different things to different people. To me it would be who I'd want on my team. Even at that KyKy was not easy to leave off. He would be in my top 11-15 for sure.

No way Dontaie Allen isn't top 10. Top 5 IMO the kid put up numbers that most will never see!

Two glaring omissions that I see is Dontae Allen from Pendleton County and KyKy Tandy from UHA.

 

Agree. Allen does belong in the top 10.

I'm not qualified to comment on Miles, but I agree on Penny! I believe he will be in the top few for 8th region POY

I don't see that. In my opinion he is the 3rd best player in the district behind Tandy and Shorty Cager. Just looking at high school ability I think Shorty is better. College potential Jalen is definitely better. Tandy is better than both as far as potential.

I think Johnson has an incredibly positive impact on games.

 

He would be in my top 10 before cager if i was building a "team".

It's hard to believe that there is only one boy from from Louisville and no one from Lexington. Any potential sleepers in those two towns?

Jay Scrubb - Trinity, he was the 7th region player of the year as a junior last season according to the coaches not the KABC.

It's a subjective list...any number of kids could be on this list. Jalen Johnson, Jay Scruggs, Cobe Penny, Mickey Pearson, Skyler Potter and so on and so on.
