Terrell Owens' possible suicide attempt

Featured Replies

Just to let my entire feelings out on the situation...

We'll probably never know the entire truth, and that's not always a bad thing. We already know more about these people's lives than we should even care about. If he tried suicide, then I hope he can get the help he needs... If it was an accident... hey, it happens. If it was a publicity stunt (and I refuse to believe that he would ever try something so low) than he lost the little respect I had for him.

If you watch a 24 hour sports news channel, you're going to get 24 hours of the main sports stories. Even CNN loops things...

The funny thing is they didn't loop anything for this one. From around 10 am to 7 pm it was all TO and all live. Gotta love when something goes on with TO...

Well, it's the top story... Personally, I haven't been home.. I had to drive up to Columbus (what a horrible place to drive around, btw) and I missed most of the circus... But he's one of the most famous players in the NFL so of course a SPORTS channel is going to drop everything to talk about what's going on.

I'm sure the ESPN treatment would've been close to (if not exactly) the same treatment for basically any other player on TO's level that this happened to, but with half the complaints.

Lots of hatred towards TO in this thread, it appears... Not dislike... hatred.

I agree.

Reactions happen. I had one to amoxiccillin. I told the docter that I wasn't allergic to anything.

The thing with allergies is that you have to be exposed to what you are allegic to first (never knowing that you are alleric to it). After that you body will begin rejecting it.

So this took sometime before the reaction actually set in.

Put this together. You are exposed to something at a very young age. You go on and experience nothing. Sometime later, you are exposed to the same allergenic as before. It is in this time when you will experience a reaction.

When can I expect a thread on the guy from the Chargers???

Who? Kiel? If so, HB20 posted one yesterday that got noo replies.

I'm just confused as to why so many people on here are 100% positive that he was faking the whole situation.....BTW, Lynn Swann was on with Sean Hannity today and he asked him about the TO situation.....Swann said he has met TO before and that he is a great person. He said TO lied at the presser and that he needs serious help.

But obviously, you guys who have never met the guy, know more about the situation than someone who knows TO.....

Does he "know" TO or has he just met & talked to TO ?

Not sure of which, but either way it's more than any of these guys on here can say.

I just think it's truly sad that we have people in this world that laugh and joke around about someone possibly attempting to kill themselves.

I do agree that it is sad that someone would joke about a situation like this no matter who it is

I just want to clarify my stance on this....Anyone that has done nothing wrong, and TO fits into that category, does not deserve to be scrutinized for this kind of situation. How many times has TO turned up in the paper for committing some kind of crime? None. TO is an individual who has lots of personal issues that we as sports fans will probably never know about. His childhood was pretty much a mess, and the guy just needs pyschological help.

As far as his conduct within the team concept of football, TO is an attention craver, no doubt about that, who picks the wrong avenues to voice his opinions. However what he says IMO has never been the problem, it's the way he says it.

I respect you guy for your compassion for this guy, maybe I should have more. The way I see it is that the only thing he suffers from is being an ego maniac. He has to be the center of attention or he isn't happy hence the holdouts, riding the stationary bike in full Lance Armstrong gear, and now this. He is like the boy that cried wolf. Maybe this is a real issue but how can you blame me or anyone else for not buying it.

Look at the entire situation. His PUBLISIST, who is in charge of his publicity, says it was a suicide attempt and that she herself had to take pills out of his mouth. Then he says he tried to harm himself. It just seemed like a farse right from the beginning to me.

I will admit that I am cynical of anything involving Owens, whom I refuse to call TO. He is the epitome of what is wrong with professional sports today. His position is about last in importance on a football team and he knows it, he isn't stupid. He uses his outlandish behavior to create awareness of himself. He probably is insecure and should be.

I said it last year when he pulled this crap with the Eagles and I will say it again this year. I think the Cowboys should cut him today. Rid themselves of this constant distraction and put team players on the field. Donovan McNabb has to be laughing his rear end off.

So do you think people owe you an apology? I know you didn't post that, but I think you agreed.

I totally agree, all he is successful at doing is putting a team in turmoil, he is a good reciever, when he is on the field, which lately including pre-season isnt much at all. I'd say the cowboys would be better off without him, as would any team!

RickyP,

I must admit when I have made an error in judgement. Yesterday I called you everything but the spawn of Osama. For those attacks I will apologize. I have been working this whole six degrees of separation thing and have found that a friend of my wife's brother went to college and had a class with a girl who cheered in high school with a girl who dated a friend of Owens. Through this link I have found that Owens would welcome media coverage on his trips to the bathroom if he could. I have also found out and can't wait to get my supply of TO TP. I will also call my local tv station and hold a press conference today to announce my upcoming visit to the dentist.
