I have my plan and it doesnt look like it goes with the other post on what to do and where to stay.

Has anyone been and have tips? Done it twice in the past two years. I've never read the books or seen the movies but I still had a great time. Definitely get the two-park passes (Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios) so you can take the Hogwarts Express from Diagon Alley to Hogwarts. If you're wanting to do Harry Potter world, Id suggest getting there as soon as the parks open and going straight to the back (that's where HP World is in either park), as it gets pretty busy pretty fast.
May 16, 20179 yr I disagree about staying at a Disney Hotel. If your going there to stay just at hotel then fine. If you wont be at hotel but to sleep then no reason to pay 3X as much at a cheaper hotel. Only perk is free parking and extra magic hours but if you plan your trip to go to parks that dont have extra hours that day then you miss a lot of people.

I'm interested in hearing all suggestions, recommendations, etc. It's all a matter of preference obviously, but if you want to save some money I would go against Grant's suggestion and stay somewhere other than a Disney property. You will save literally hundreds of dollars, and you can find non-Disney hotels within a 10-15 minute drive of the parks. If you want to save money or spend it on something other than lodging, don't stay at a Disney property. If the cost doesn't bother you, Grant is absolutely right about staying on property.

We always did Univ studios first then busted butt to Island of Adventure. We had a plan made out too of what to do and skip. But if yo want a 2 day ticket thats probably the best. When I went last year we did 5 days at Disney, 1 day at Sea World, 1 day at Universal (both parks). I also suggest checking Undercover Tourist for cheaper tickets, very trustworthy. May 16, 20179 yr Are there any specific hotels outside the park you would suggest? I just get on priceline, trivago, hotels.com and find a cheap nice place. usually on International Drive are good hotels.
