Also, from host Al Mayo:

Hey folks--it's been great using all the nominees (last year) week after week on the show, and we'll continue to use them for the foreseeable future. I wanted to remind you of a couple things. When you nominate a player, I need his height, weight, and class designation (Freshman, Sophomore, Etc). I also need the stats to be correct. Just telling me it looked like he ran for over a hundred yards won't do it. Please include all pertinent numbers like carries, pass attempts, completions, yardage gained, number of tackles--you all understand what I need. Otherwise, I have to track these numbers down. Not that I mind doing the legwork, but I normally save this part of the show for last, so I can take nominees until the last possible hour, so I just don't have the time to look it all up. I'll usually pull the information from here by Thursday afternoon, so try to have your candidates nominated by about 2:00pm Thursdays. I couldn't be happier with the information you've all provided, and I'm looking forward to continuing our association with BGP!

Let's go with nominations for this week!

Kasey Clark Russell- 5 TD's on 10 touches Friday night vs. Powell Co. Tied a Russell single game TD Record. 8 rushes 84 yards and 4 rushing TD's and 2 Receptions for 64 yards and 1 receiving TD! Half of his touches were for scores not big numbers but 30 points on ten touches is huge!

He is 6'1 200 pounds and a senior.

WR Nathan Ponzer of the Pioneers. I'm not sure of how many yards he had, but most likely 100+ with 3 TDs and the best catch i've ever seen a high schooler make and it was in OT. It was a one handed fully laid out stab that would've been #1 in sportscenter top ten.

I could not agree more... Nathan Ponzer. He had an all around great game and one of the best catches I've ever seen in a football game.

Antoine Robinson, Frankfort High. Senior Running Back, 5'8 205, had 7 carries for 202 yards, 3 TD's in 2 quarters in Frankfort's win over Garrard County.

Beckam Herald, RB from Breathitt County is a good one. He has put up some good numbers for the bobcats. He should be on everyone's watch list. He plays saftey also and has had some great int's. Look out for him.

Braxton Miller Lincoln County, Sr. fullback 6'2" 190. With 9:30 left in the 3rd quarter Miller had 258 yards and 4 touchdowns. Miller only played in two games last season because of a dislocated elbow. He has stepped up big for the patriots this season and has already rushed somewhere between 700 and 800 5 games into the season, 2 200 plus performances and over 100 in every game except PRP.

Keep them coming folks...make them as detailed as possible please.....

Emanuel Taylor RB Hopkinsville 21 carries 248 yards rushing. Two TD's in a lossing effort against Christian County.

Have to agree with Nathan Ponzer: 120-130 yards, 3 TD's, and you will not see a better catch in football than the ball he snagged in OT to keep the game going.

wouldn't it be nice to see a defensive player get nominated? Too often they position the offense, who then seems to get the glory. Same goes for the offensive line.

It would be nice, and they often do get nominated...in fact I give a lot more consideration to players who have good Defensive Stats, AND Offensive stats. Anytime I can reward an all around performance, I jump at it.

I think you may recall we named a special teams player as POW in week one or two...

ALL players are eligible for nomination, but it's up to you folks to do it.
