General Batista and the General in charge of trainning troops in Iraq testified today that contrary to what Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld spew about leaving it to the Generals on the ground to determine troop strength, they have been asking for more troops and equipment for the past two years. In fact, the General currently in charge of signig off on the budget refused to sign it today which will force Rumsfeld to appeal to congress for more funding.

Just heard on Oberman that it was General Shoemaker that sent back the budget, requesting 138 Billion, which is 40% more than Rumsfeld aloted.

Dems want neither. No reason to bring up the bin Lauden story if you don't know for sure, unless its for political gain and no reason for gas prices to rise as high as they were and then drop in the fall of an election year unless its for political gain. Not saying that the president can DIRECTLY effect gas prices, but BIG OIL sure as heck can. Do you suppose that BIG OIL might want Republicans back in office so they can continue their record profits at the expense of the middle class?

I think it was due to the recent fictional ABC movie as well as the fact that he thought the interview would be mostly concentrated on his recent humanitarian work. The question suprised him and he was sincerely put off that everyone has been trying to put 911 on his sholders. Has anyone that you know of ever ask W why he didn't do more to prevent 911, especially when he knew bin Lauden was a serious enough threat to fire rockets at him.
