HaHa. I think i know who you are referring too now!

They never stay on their side of the field , this year will be no different. Some of them come over and get upset at what they hear on the visitor's side when they do. When in Rome.........

I think that ended up being a problem two years ago. Guess we will go with whatever happens.

I'll need to fill you in more but it is very safe to say that it was a very big problem two years ago.

Cumberland/Harlan is a rivarly in county game that is always competitive. Comparing by that game doesn't tell you much about Harlan being able to hang with the Briar Jumpers. But, its not worth an arguement. The kids will decide it on the field. The Jumpers certainly have a talented group of kids and are well coached. However, overconfidence can beat you, so again, don't count Harlan out.

Its a little different if the rivalry game is close and the next game is close. Somerset is 1-4 I guarantee you they are not overconfident. However, the Harlan/Cumberland game was a draw. The Cumberland/Somerset game was an execution. We don't have to argue, barring injury Somerset sweeps this district easily. Harlan is a distant 2nd by about 3 touchdowns. Then Williamsburg followed by Lynn Camp.

63-12 Somerset....

Somerset will dominate this year in the powerhouse district that they are part of, its hard to match up against teams like cumberland, harlan, williamsburg, etc., a real head turning schedule for the Jumpers.

Williamsburg's playing of a weak schedule will be exposed in this game. 48-14 Jumpers.

:D Naw, not a bit overconfident.................;)

The Cal Preps site picks the Jackets in a close one.......

I think that this game will be a good one, but i think Williamsburg will be victorious in this matchup because i think they will be focused on nothing else but physically beating the Jumpers. WHS-33 SHS- 22

If Williamsburg had played Somersets schedule and Sset had played Wburgs schedule would Wburg already be exposed, be 1 and 4 or be a better team and beat Somerset 48-14.

I don't know if anyone in the district can physically beat the Jumpers. If the Jackets win, it will be because of lack of mistakes and capitalizing on Somerset's. Can't see anyone (in the district) just punching the Jumpers in the mouth and making them like it. Maybe Harlan will bring a little hurt on them, but that is a little later. This year reminds me of the year that Williamsburg made the trip to Somerset and the receiver for the Jackets got knocked out early and the 'Burg never recovered. Being ready and playing ready could be the difference in this game. First big test for the Jackets this year, but the early schedule probably got Somerset more prepared for this game than the Jackets pre-district. Edge HAS TO go to Somerset.

You confused me a little here. Are you saying that Somerset would be worse by playing the easier schedule? Are we comparing by teams played or better records against worse teams? I would think that by playing the Danville's and surviving that you have a better grasp of where you need to be come district time. The speed and strength of the better teams makes you play better/smarter football or get squashed. Lesser opponents makes for a good looking win/loss but does little to prepare you for the stronger and faster teams you will meet when it matters. I really don't see where the 4-1 record and the 1-4 record can be compared in this scenario. It has had to make Somerset better to play the teams they have.
